I got my first positive test on Tuesday, af was due Wednesday so I’m now 3 days late (not sure on DPO as I don’t track).

Ive (stupidly) continued to test daily since and all of my tests have been fairly faint...as in not as dark as control line but there at arms length, no squinted or anything.

Today I have a little brown spotting. Is this normal? I have no pain or anything. I’m so scared something will go wrong. Please reassure me.

I had brown spotting from week 5 to week 8ish, two early scans showed everything to be ok and couldn't find a cause.

I'm now 19 weeks so keeping everything crossed that everything continues to go well.

Fingers crossed for you too @LizzyB03

Thanks @Csari, it’s reassuring to know others have been through it and come out ok. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy, hope all goes week for you.

I had this in my first pregnancy for quite a while, part of brown discharge! Happy healthy 21 months old sleeping like an angel upstairs ✨

DisgruntledPelican · 14/11/2020 21:27

I had this around 10-11 weeks, it came on after sex, mostly. Midwife didn’t seem too concerned when I spoke to her, it is quite common.

spidermomma · 14/11/2020 21:35

With my first pregnancy I had normal periodish spotting until I was about 5 months. I used to hate this. With baby number 3 I ended up with kidney stones, one day I randomly just weed blood ! Was mortified I was 8montjd at the time. Luckily was kidney stones an they passed once I had him! X

AnnaSW1 · 14/11/2020 21:39

To be honest I've had it twice. The same on both occasions. Once was a miscarriage and once everything was fine.

penguin423 · 14/11/2020 21:57

I had brown spotting nearly continuously from finding out until about 14 weeks. All was fine and no reason could be found as to why that (plus some red bleeding episodes) happened.

whydoIhavetodoeverything · 14/11/2020 22:03

I had it, and it was terrifying. Went straight to hospital and had scan, all fine and it’s pretty usual apparently. The ‘baby’is now 12 years old and sleeping upstairs. Go get checked out if you are worried to put your mind at rest xxx

Daisy829 · 14/11/2020 22:06

Yes I did on my due date so thought my period had started but it calmed down. I think it’s pretty common & from what I remember can be part of the implantation process. Mine is now 9 years old. Fingers crossed for you.

Mybobowler · 14/11/2020 22:16

I had this on and off through the first trimester and all was well!

Whilstwewait · 14/11/2020 22:20

I had some the day my period was due. Also had red blood at 11 weeks and 14 week although hardly any and all was fine x

LizzyB03 · 14/11/2020 22:22

Thank you so much for all of your reassurance. It’s made me feel a little more relaxed. Can only wait and see now I suppose. It’s so hard to concentrate on anything else. I am trying really hard not to keep testing just to make sure the line is still there 🙈

Same as @AnnaSW1 I have had this twice and once was MMC and the other Is now a tornado of a two year old! It is surprisingly common in a healthy pregnancy. Best of luck to you 😊

Pegase · 14/11/2020 22:30

Good luck! I've had this and had a successful outcome but also had it and had a miscarriage. Brown blood and bright red on both occasions so you can't really tell I'm afraid.

LizzyB03 · 15/11/2020 11:29

Update for anyone following - I started bleeding more heavily this morning. Took another FRER and sure enough the line is fainter than my previous ones so I think this is a chemical 😢 heartbroken.
Thanks so much everyone for taking time to respond to my thread.

So sorry to hear this @LizzyB03 hope you are doing ok. It’s ok to ask for support from trusted friends and family, and on here too. Be kind to yourself x

I had brown spotting around the time I usually got my period for the first 3 months is my pregnancy.

I remember being really nervous but when I mentioned it to my midwife she wasn’t worried at all. Said it was quite common and it’s most likely as my HCG hormone haven’t reached to a high enough point to tell my body ‘I’m pregnant’.

Everything was fine

CtrlU · 18/11/2020 14:12

Sorry to read @LizzyB03 about the update but please don’t think the worst until you’ve seen a professional

I had the same thing. Spotting then one day I had a big show of blood and cramps and pain and blood clots and everything. I thought I miscarried and After speaking to 111 they said it sounds like I have too.

When I went to the hospital the following week to have a scan to make sure everything had terminated naturally - they saw my baby jumping around happily and safe and I continued my pregnancy. I have a healthy 7yr old son now.

Good luck
