Pregnacare Plus - Omega tablets, anyone find them hard to swallow?

Hello all.

I can usually down any tablets no problem but I have the Pregnacare with the Omega 3 separate tablet and I find it really hard to swallow, sort of gets stuck in the back of my throat and I have to take more big sips of water to get down. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone know of a similar omega supplement I can take that's easier? I guess I should just eat more oily fish! I do eat tinned tuna quite a bit at the mo, my latest craving, but not sure if this really counts!

Thanks.

Yeah I have them and they're yucky to take, to be honest, I know this probably makes me a bad mother and all but I have pretty much stopped taking them. Just trying to eat well instead! How many weeks are you?

Hi Clapham, I'm 10 so early days and seeing as I have to take the folic acid I decided to bung in the Omega 3 too! I may well just stick to the folic acid rather than feeling like I'm going to choke each day! How far are you and how do you feel?

Hello last pg I just took the standard pregnacare but this time I am taking the combined one too. I normally swallow tablets without even needing water but I do find I have to have a drink before taking them, to kind of moisten the throat, and then after taking them to force them down. Feel fine straight after though so am persevering as my diet is cack! I am 24 weeks.

I tried these but my midwife said due to my levels being all OK and that i shouldn't bother unless they drop etc. Iwas delighted because kept on bringing the pregacare and santageon ones up.. they were horrid. I am 26 weeks and I am eating a really balanced diet so making sure I get my 5 a day, I would try that instead.. good luck

Hi Janus, while we're on the subject of oily fish and tuna, wondered if you'd seen the Food Standards Agency guidelines.

Basically, not too much... Difficult I know as I also had a tuna craving!

Same here! The ordinary Pregnacare tablets go down fine but I've choked on the omega tabs piles of times. It's put me off taking them too. Funny, because the omega tabs look easier to swallow (what with the other ones being so long).

Sx
