I'm 37 weeks pregnant and I'm getting like sharp pains down there and when I am walking it feels really weird. I can't describe the feeling it's like a kind of pressure and achy feeling this isn't a sign of labour or anything is it as my c section isn't due until next week

Also is it normal for Brixton hicks contractions to last for a long time I've got like a cramping sensation in my belly and it's really uncomfortable and it's stays for like half an hour

I never really had braxton hicks that I can recall, but I do remember the stabby feeling you're talking about. DS was born on January 20th and I remember them from when I was wrapping Christmas presents one day in early December, so I wouldn't necessarily take them as an imminent sign of labour.

If you're concerned I'd give your midwife a call, especially if you are booked for a section, I imagine there are medical reasons for this so I'd probably just give her or your MAU a call and see what they say. Good luck!

I'm 38+5 and been getting the stabby feelings for a week or two now, they actually hurt at times! I think it's down to babies position and pushing on nerves or something as it comes and goes. I've never had Braxton Hicks in either pregnancy so not sure about that.

The stabby feeling is probably just position of the baby.
My braxton hicks would last a while and take my breath away but where just tightenings of my belly/skin rather than uterus.

If you are concerned give your MW or MAU a call.

Are you guys talking about lightening crotch?! It’a a real thing

Sounds like head fitting pains! The Braxton Hicks can go on a while but definitely ring if they become stronger or more regular. If in doubt though call triage, better to be on the safe side Smile
