Has anyone experienced this? I went for a scan as I wasn't 100% sure on dates and only seen a very thickening lining Iv had to take some blood tests but been waiting all day for my blood results as been told either 3 options.

Failed pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy or just way too early to see anything.

Iv been going out my mind had a phone call back but told me my results havnt come back as of yet and I have to wait another few hours and the ward doctor will ring me back as been past over, has anyone else ever experienced this? Iv had two MMC and a CP just so scared but wanted to understand and hear people's stories x

I had this last year at 6 7 weeks pregnant. The Womb was thick but no pregnancy to be seen. They made me wait outside and then gave me an ectopic pregnancy leaflet and took bloods. They took bloods over a couple of days and found my hcg was rising but still nothing in womb. So got admitted onto gynae ward but i ended up just miscarrying whilst admitted so didnt need any intervention. I hope this isn't the case for you and i hope my story hasn't made you more worried. But i have also had a missed miscarriage 2 cps and one suspected ectopic. So i know how you feel i wish you good luck. Take care Flowers

Mamainmaking1 · 13/11/2020 21:55

Currently in the same position. Had a scan at 4 weeks 4 days and could see nothing, repeated it again today at 5 weeks and again could see no sac. Numbers went from 488 on Tuesday to 1100 today which they said was a good rise and are now taking me back again in the morning to scan again in hope to see something. Had been bleeding brown since I found out I was pregnant but last night and today I have been bleeding red - no cramps etc so I have no idea what is going on at this stage!! How are you @mollieangel123?

mollieangel123 · 13/11/2020 22:16

Thankyou both so much for your replies @Rainbowbaby3 I'm so sorry about your losses! It is so frustrating I'm not sure wether to prepare for the worst or not feel so lost!

@Mamainmaking1 Iv had my results back about a hour ago and they said my HCG is showing 249 and my progesterone is showing 49 no idea if this is good or bad I believe I am 4 weeks today but really have no idea I also have to go back Sunday! Your results seem so promising though! I wish you luck! Please let me know how you get on! Will be thinking of you x

My pregnancy of unknown location is now 2 weeks old. It was just too early to tell unfortunately. It's hard but try to relax and let a bit of time pass. The majority turn out absolutely fine

Cbd333 · 13/11/2020 23:20

I'm in the same position right now. I have had a previous PUL that turned out to be ectopic but that was accompanied by slow rising HCG. OP they will know much more when they have a second HCG to compare the first to, so sit tight.

For my current PUL I have another scan this Sunday as my first showed nothing but HCG went from 380 last Sunday to 910 on Tuesday (I'm 4-5 weeks) so I have a tiny bit of hope.

Try not to worry too much, but if something doesn't feel right don't ignore it. Let us know how you get on - sending positive vibes x

brunette337 · 14/11/2020 00:04

Early scans are always a source of stress for this reason. It’s just too early to see something in most cases they recommend minimum 8 weeks

lolabears · 14/11/2020 00:08

HCG level won't really mean much until it's repeated to see if levels are doubling. Are you scheduled for another blood test?

Bobs82 · 14/11/2020 06:00

Hi all
I am currently experiencing a PUL for the second time. Sadly in my first it ended in miscarriage in May and then I had a subsequent miscarriage in September. On the first PUL my HCG was raising only by 20/30% although I did get to see a heartbeat twice before I sadly miscarried.

This time my HCG is rising properly with the doubling rate of 2.5 days although the last two days were taken a week apart (345 on 6/11 and 2337 yesterday). I am waiting for another test tomorrow. They are concerned about ectopic but have also seen a flattened eccentric gestational sac which they are concerned about (in between 5 and 6 weeks).

OP - I’ve read lots of PUL stories that have worked out well so please don’t be too alarmed by my first story. My levels were not rising well which isn’t a good sign. Will be thinking of you. Please let us know how you get on.

All - has anyone had a flattened gestational sac before? Also, my hospital don’t appear to take progesterone levels. Do you know if it’s specific to the area so some hospital trusts don’t do that? Should I be asking for that? Many thanks

Mamainmaking1 · 14/11/2020 08:37

@Bobs82 where was your first pul located if you managed to see the heartbeat? Just ask the next time they are doing HCG for progesterone also, they should be happy enough to do it because apparently they are tested from the same tube. Unfortunatly on mine they can't find a sac so I have no experience of the flattened sac. What do they think this means?

@mollieangel123 your numbers are also good for 4 weeks, I was around 4 weeks 4 or 5 days so your numbers should be similar to mine in around 400 when they do your repeat. My progesterone was also 36 so yours is looking good at 29. When are they repeating the test?

I could hardly sleep last night worried about potential Etopic, I have none of the symptoms apart from bleeding but I kept convincing myself that I could feel pain or that I have discomfort in one leg. All so hard and j really doubt if they could see nothing yesterday they will be able to see anything today on a scan. Does anyone know if these internal scans can cause any harm to baby? I will have had 3 this week alone. Really hope everything works out ok for us all!!

Bobs82 · 14/11/2020 09:44

@Mamainmaking1 my first PUL ended up being in the uterus. It took a while for it to show though so for a while it was deemed a PUL. I’m currently in the same position as they don’t know if mine this time is an ectopic..I was like you the night before last up all night worrying. What’s the next step for you?
In relation to the flattended sac, they don’t really know as they said my clinical picture is odd (rising hcg and no real pain or bleeding) but that they’ve never seen a viable pregnancy in a flattened sac 😢
Keep me posted. Keeping everything crossed for you. X

Bobs82 · 14/11/2020 09:45

@Mamainmaking1 oh and I asked about the danger of scans and they said there’s not data on it but there’s no other way of checking what’s going on!

jessicalouise10 · 14/11/2020 10:51

At 6 weeks I went in for a scan because of bleeding, had about 10 days of it from 11DPO onwards. They called it a PUL, as I had an area of fluid at the end of one of my tubes aswel as one in my uterus. Did bloods and went back in for repeat bloods where my HCG barely rised. I had a 7 week scan where they confirmed the pregnancy was thankfully in the uterus, and the other blob they were seeing was a fibroid. I had no yolk or fetal pole so I'm in for another scan Monday in hope of seeing something. I'm petrified. Also had more bleeding on Tuesday but just half a day of red blood and not much. I'm petrified but I feel like I haven't lost it yet, I haven't had any pain or cramping. Just hoping to see something on my next scan 😔

Mamainmaking1 · 14/11/2020 14:04

Basically I went in today and after being told by a nurse who was scanning me that they thought she seen a small sac I had another scan by consultant who after also saying she could see a small saac and no bleeding or fluid in womb basically came out and told me she is nearly certain this is etopic (even though they can't actually see an etopic on the scan) because I am tender during scan on my left side and have bleeding. She is taking me back tomorrow to do another scan and repeat my HCG and wants me to sit and wait on them to come back. She said if the numbers haven't completely doubled at least and or she can see nothing more significant on the scan she was to pursue treatment there and then in terms of injection or surgery. Horrible and have no idea whether to take surgery or Injection - living on my nerves but still holding out a tiny bit of hope that things improve and prove everyone wrong tomorrow!

mollieangel123 · 15/11/2020 13:18

Hi girls thanks for all your replies! Hope your all okay!

@SadAndPregnant that's so re assuring thankyou so much! I'm going out my mind it's horribke x

@Cbd333 how are you? Have you had your scan? Sending positive vibes to you too! X

@lolabears Iv just got back from having more bloods today and awaiting on results now the wait is not okay! Making me over think everything 😂🙈 xx

@Bobs82 I'm so sorry on your previous MMC that's good news it's doubling! That's a good sign! How did you get on with your other test? Been thinking Of you! It's so bad I think the unknown really does take over you doesn't it! Sending positive vibes your way too Iv had another blood test awaiting results 😔😅 xx

@Mamainmaking1 do you think? I wasn't sure if it's good or bad if I'm honest I'm just sat waiting patiently for my results I'm praying they double! The stress of this is just mental. Please try not to stress I know it's so much easier said then done! I'm sending you lots of lluck though! I'm not sure if it can cause any harm if I'm honest sorry! Have you heard anything or been back? Please let me know xxx

Bobs82 · 15/11/2020 14:05

@Mamainmaking1 thanks for the positive vibes. Sadly I’ve been today and my hcg levels have only increased 28% so it’s not looking good. I have a scan tomorrow morning to see whether I can just leave it to see if I have a miscarriage naturally or if I need medical intervention for suspected ectopic (because they haven’t had a confirmed pregnancy in the uterus and I have a mass on my ovary which they are unsure of). I hope yours is a positive ending xx

Mamainmaking1 · 15/11/2020 14:20

@Bobs82 I'm in the excat same position as you. I thought my numbers were good the other day but apparently they were too low and not enough of an increase (even though a different Dr said they were good). They could see nothing on 2 scans yesterday apart form a tiny sac that they said was more likely to be a blood clot and a suspect cyst on left side along with tenderness on that side. I have also now been bleeding red and quite heavily today - no cramps yet though. They repeated my HCG today and done all the tests for the injection for etopic and now I've to wait to tomorrow to talk to specialist and then make a decision. I am desperately praying I miscarriage naturally at this stage and praying my numbers have come down from my last test as it's apparent this preganancy is ending so it's better for me if they come down and possible end itself than go up and put me at more risk of rupture. So so rare for ovarian etopic and here is two of us in the excat same position - really hope your looking after yourself I cried sore last night processing it all and also with pure fear of something happening but it's settled in a bit more today and at this stage I just want closure on it one way or another. Keep in touch - I will let you know when I get my blood test results

dippyegg32 · 15/11/2020 15:05

I had bloods on Thursday at 4weeks and was 357, bloods yesterday were 1097 at 4+2 but scan tomorrow. I've had no bleeding or stomach pain but shoulder pain.

Mamainmaking1 · 15/11/2020 16:03

@Bobs82 numbers have dropped from 1127 to 1007 so they are saying it's in keeping with etopic but there's a possibility of them just doing expectant management now where they just let me see if it resolves on its own because it's showing signs of starting to come down by itself. Will know more tomorrow. Really hope everything works out for you and @mollieangel123 and everyone else on the thread.

Cbd333 · 15/11/2020 17:07

I had another scan today and they could see a possible gestational sac but no yolk sac, so they took more bloods. Those came back at 7900 so they're going up by about x 2.3 every 48 hours.

The midwife said it's a good sign that there is something there today that wasn't there last week (possibly gestational sac) but that my HCG is quite high not to be able to see a yolk sac.

They are bringing me back in on Friday for another scan so I guess we'll see what happens then. I'm 6weeks 1 day by last missed period but I know I ovulated day 21 so I'm more like 5weeks + 1 day.

I have this feeling it's either a blighted ovum, an ectopic or twins! Something just doesn't feel straightforward about this one Confused

Bobs82 · 15/11/2020 18:17

@Mamainmaking1 I’m so sorry to hear your pregnancy hasn’t progressed. It is odd we are in the same boat! I am keeping everything crossed for non medical management too so will be interested to see how you get on. The only issue for me is my levels are just under 3,000 so they would prefer to give me the injection. What tests have you had for the injection as they haven’t mentioned them to me? Look after yourself xx

mollieangel123 · 15/11/2020 18:18

Hi girls! How is everyone feeling? Iv tried to reply to you all like I did earlier but my phone won't let me do it at the same time so I'm not remembering what everyone's saying as I'm typing I'm so sorry if I forget anything l!

Iv had them ring me back and Iv gone from 246 to 682 in two days not sure if this is good or bad as the way they started the convo fdragged right out but anyway I have to have a scan Monday Tuesday as I'm in no pain or bleeding u don't need to go on tonight to be monitored.

@Bobs82 I'm so sorry to hear this 😔 sending hugs your way! Silly question but how are you? Do you have a partner who's there? I hate the thought of you feeling this way alone! I also have a scan to check if they can see if it's ectopic or not it's such a stressful time for us all xxx

@dippyegg32
So good to hear your numbers have increased that's a good sign! I'm sending so much luck your way at the scan and hoping your pain doesn't carry on! How is the pain in your shoulder tonight? Xxx

@Mamainmaking1
I'm so sorry to hear your numbers of dropped
Please let me know how you get on tomorrow il be thinking of you! Sending hugs! 😔 xxxx

@Cbd333 that's such good news though that they can actually see something though! Try and keep positive as much as you can! Have you had any other things happen like pain or bleeding? Yours sounds promising i must say! Omg twins! Imagine! ❤️❤️❤️ please let me know how Friday goes sending lots of positives xxxxxx

@mollieangel123 thank you. I’m doing ok..my other half is here and he’s really supportive. It’s just worse as this will be my third failed pregnancy since May. At least now I’ll get some tests done and hopefully get some answers. Thanks for caring. It sounds positive your levels have more than doubled...I hope the scan goes well. Keep us updated and take care of yourself x

mollieangel123 · 16/11/2020 11:25

I really hope the tests give you the answers you need sending hugs again! And yeh it seems a good sign just hope it's not ectopic and growing in the correctly place had a phone call today and I'm booked for next Monday will keep posted hope everyone is okay and doing better today ❤️

ShalomToYouJackie · 16/11/2020 11:48

Hi OP, at 4 weeks nothing would usually be seen on a scan anyway. Not even a sac. Your HCG increasing the way it has is a good sign. Best of luck and hope you get some answers soon xx

dippyegg32 · 16/11/2020 15:02

Thinking of you all Daffodil

I've just been rescanned and gestational sac and yolk sac found in uterus Smile Back for another scan to monitor development in three weeks
