Ive been going to the ante-natal clinic at the hospital for the past few week and they have been taking blood but not giving me my results when i go back. Ive just had a letter saying i have to go back next week, which is a week earlier than im supposed to, and be reviewed with the chance of having to get iron through a transfusion.
Has anyone had this done?
Do you have to stay in, how long does it take etc?

I was anaemic during my pregnancy but they just gave me iron tablets. I've never heard of an iron transfusion. Have you tried googling it?

I have had a lot. They were done in my doctor's surgery by a trained assistant. Each one took half an hour, and I could go home straight after.

Ive just spoke to a midwife at the hospital, ive got to go in for iron drips twice a week and she says it will take about an hour.
The iron tablets ive been taking for the past 6 months have done nothing and my iron keeps falling.
