3rd sweep - successful stories?

Just realised it's Friday the 13th and I have my third sweep at 11:30 😂

This is my second baby and we all thought he'd of arrived ages ago now (currently 41 +2) if he doesn't arrive over the weekend then I'm getting the balloon induction on Monday evening.

Any successful 3rd sweep stories? 😂 I've tried absolutely everything and I've literally got no hope left!

I just had my 3rd sweep on Tuesday afternoon. I started having contractions about 30 mins after for around 6hrs. They were around 50-60secs long and every 5mins. Painful enough to take my breath away but not painful enough to go into hospital. I decided to lie down and have a rest and woke up in the morning with NO contractions. False labour (prodromal labour- grrrr). I did have a bloody show that morning though. Sorry I don't have more successful news for you.

But I'm right there with you. I'm 41+3 and have my induction booked for Sunday. I'm constantly knicker checking for my waters or any other symptoms. I'm so tired and over it now.

DD1 was induced at 42wks.

My second came after my 3rd sweep, I woke on the morning 8 days over and thought my waters had gone. Went to the MW who said no, but she reckoned I'd be in labour in 24hrs. Contractions started about an hour after and I had DD the next morning.

Dd3 hung on til 42wks regardless and was induced by ARM. But it was a very quick birth (2hr start to finish) so if you do have to be induced on Monday, mine was a very positive experience.

Sorry when the MW saw me at 8 days over she have me a sweep 🤦🏻‍♀️ which was the third I had. Talk about missing the crucial info

I’m currently 41+4 and have just received my 3rd and final sweep earlier on today. My midwife said I was 2cm dilated and her head couldn’t be any more further down this has been the case now for almost a week. I lost my mucus plug but not my bloody show around 5 days ago yet I’ve still not had any signs of going into labour yet. My midwife didn’t sound completely satisfied that this would change before my induction on Sunday but did say there could still be a chance. Was wandering if anyone’s had a similar experience and did they end up going into labour naturally??
