Can't feel my baby move?

Hi all,

I am 19 weeks pregnant tomorrow and getting slightly concerned that I haven't felt anything yet? I'm also wondering if my bump is slightly on the smaller side. I'm probably over thinking it, this is my first pregnancy and have my 20 week scan on the 23rd so I know they'll be able to answer all of my questions then. Just wondering if anyone had the same issues? Thanks x

Not unusual.to.be 20 or so weeks before feeling movement with a first baby.

Possibly you have an anterior placenta which makes it more difficult to feel your baby's movements. You might not notice any until a bit later on.

I don't think it's anything to worry about. In a few weeks you'll be complaining about little feet digging in under your ribs or a head dancing on your bladder. I'm sure your scan will reassure you, not long to wait now.

I first felt DS1 when lying on my front in bed, at 18 weeks. It wasn't the most comfortable position though, but I definitely felt movement.

Drink orange juice and lie down and relax. One day the baby will do a happy wriggle

You may not until as late as 24 weeks! I was 23, anterior placenta. No need to stress or compare yourself to other people.

I thought I wasn't feeling anything at 19 weeks.
When I got to 20-21 the movements became a bit more obvious and now I realise that I was feeling them earlier but dismissed them as gas/muscle twitches etc!

I'm on second pregnancy and very close dates to you and I've felt almost nothing, definitely no massively obvious movements. I feel very occasional flutters, but you would hardly recognise as a baby moving unless you've felt before.

Yes I’m exactly the same as you. I’ve been feeling movements earlier this time but only because I’ve felt them before ❤️

With my son it was a few weeks later I felt movements (probably 20 weeks or so)
