I'm currently in work at 32+3 weeks and due to go off on maternity in 2 weeks however I've been under a lot of stress/pressure lately in work and have been close to walking out. I'm considering taking 2 weeks stress leave and that will take me straight to start of maternity without coming back. Has anyone done this?
And does it affect SMP?

@FirstTimeMama36
I'm sure someone else will know better, but if you are off within 5 weeks prior to your due date and work think it's pregnancy related, they can make you bring your mat leave forward. So if you do apply for time off, just make sure everyone knows it's not baby related. X

It won't affect SMP or your maternity leave. They can only make you bring maternity leave forward if you're off sick from 36 weeks. I took two weeks sick before my last maternity leave with SPD and it was fine.

Thank you both still thinking about it at the moment. Got a long weekend to calm down! 💁‍♀️
