Hello - hope someone can help me as I'm having quite an upsetting time (not sure if part of it is hormones so please forgive me if it seems that way!). I'm 22 weeks pregnant and currently registered with Wexham Park hospital who have messed me about from start to finish (missing tests, forgetting to send me appointments, poor communication, forgetting to prescribe medication) and I've had enough. I know I'm quite far along in the pregnancy but I really don't feel comfortable giving birth there seeing as they clearly cannot be bothered to get things right. I was just wondering what other hospitals I could ring up in this area (Gerrards Cross / South Buckinghamshire). I haven't lived in the area long so don't know. I was only given 3 choices of hospital - Wexham, High Wycombe (which I can't go to because I have to be consultant led) and Stoke Mandeville (which is quite a drive away). I was hoping somewhere like Amersham would have a maternity ward but it's very unclear online. Thanks in advance x

Have you considered Ascot - heatherwood? My friend is having her baby there in March xx

I had issues with Wexham Park and also moved my birth. I changed to Royal Berkshire in Reading which may be a bit too far for you but I'm having my second baby there as well. They are absolutely fantastic.

Thanks for the suggestions both. I'll decide between one of these. It's a shame because obviously it's more convenient and safer to use closest hospital but don't feel safe in Wexham's hands at the moment at all. It's been one thing after another.

I'm so sorry @Orangetreess you sound exactly like I felt after my disasters there. If I can help with any other questions you can PM me. One other thing to say is that they seem to have coordinated the care better this year so I don't have to go to Reading for all my appointments, just scans and eventual birth. The rest of my care is in the community.

Watford could be an option? Depending which side of Gerrards Cross you are it might not be too far although it is in Herts rather than Bucks.

Thank you all for the suggestions, I had no idea where to even try contacting before.

@loveacupoftea18 - I will send you a message. Would be really helpful to hear more about your experience, specific issues, how recent etc

@Orangetreess sorry you are having a tough time with this. Currently 30wks with DC2 and due to give birth in Stoke Mandiville but I agree the closer you are the better. My first was actually born in Hillingdon hospital which isn’t too far from GX (it was a choice between there or Wexham) and i honestly could not fault the care I received and the midwifes were fantastic. I’m actually gutted I can’t have this baby there but we have moved and like I say I feel we need something closer. Message me if you have any questions! Good luck xx

I had my dd recently at wexham park and I have only good things to say about the care and treatment received. Despite a rocky birth and a few issues with dd, I was made to feel special and the midwives, nurses and doctors were great. Special thanks to midwives - Sophie (who helped deliver my DD and was outstanding throughout), Charlie, Ciara, Hayat, Swee, Paulina and to the Paediatric Doctors - Rosie, Hannah and Angela. There were several others too but these are the names who stood out for me. I couldn’t speak more highly of this hospital and would recommend wexham park to anyone. Thank you everyone.
