Has anyone had a cervical erosion before?

I'm pregnant was meant to be 8 weeks but measuring around 6-7 everything's fine from my scan on Friday but I went in to epu with spotting. They said I had a sore spot near my womb almost like a graze and something to do with cells there could be causing me to spot. Anyway it calmed down after and I've had it once over the weekend since till last night when I had a little red bleeding this was more than spotting but still light which turned brown this morning but seems to be calming down again. My question is has anyone had this before and can give advice? I'm trying to keep calm about it and think it's normal but dread going to the toilet now, has anyone else had this and everything turn out fine still? I googled it and I think it's called a cervical erosion, sorry for the long post

Yes I have it, I had it before I became pregnant. They diagnosed me with ectropion cervix, it's the same thing. I would bleed after sex due to it.
I've bled after sex whilst being pregnant and I had a scan at 9 weeks and everything was fine! I have my 12 week scan tmo so I'll update you.
It's normal to spot when having this condition especially during pregnancy as the cervix softens. Keep me updated on your journey xx

@lilly02 thank you I'm hoping everything's okay still, I actually haven't been having sex as that's what helped set off my miscarriage a few months ago I think so panicked with the spotting/bleeding this time but hopefully it's just nothing. Have you been getting bleeding on and off throughout then? I think if this pregnancy is successful this is what I'm looking at with the looks of things

Glad that everything's fine for you & baby!

Yea I have and did with my first child, spotting a few times throughout the pregnancy.

It was always much worse and likely to happen when I was dehydrated and had been walking or on my feet for too long. Make sure you get your feet up when you can Smile

I have this. Spotted during this pregnancy, like you say one time it was more than spotting and was bright red. Always went brown then stopped though. I’m now 20 weeks and haven’t had any spotting since around 10 weeks. It was generally after we had sex. I have my scan Friday where I’m hoping they can check length of cervix etc.

Glad you & babies are/have all been okaySmilethank you I feel more hopeful for a good outcome now

Yes I had that at 7 weeks with my 1st baby. Everything was fine after. I did have another bleed at 41 weeks so they were going to induce me but then I went into labour that same day anyway. That baby is a healthy 7 year old now.

Yes, but sits only caused problems for me during pregnancy, with as you say spotting and a couple of red bleed. I’m ivf so have to stick a pessary up there 2 a day until 12 weeks and that is not helping! Always mention bleeding to your MW but if you have an irritable cervix you will get familiar with ‘normal’ bleeding and know the difference if it starts being clots or painful

Yes, and it terrified me, but once I knew what it was I was better. I wore black knickers and black party liners so I wasn't constantly knicker checking!!

@GeeHO98 I had this beginning at about 6 weeks and it continued around once a week until 10 weeks then stopped 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m now 27 weeks. The dread of going to the bathroom is horrible, hoping it sorts itself out for you soon x

GeeHO98 · 11/11/2020 00:46

@2020N hopefully, thank you it's really worrying isn't it doesn't help there's not much advice or support at the minute from midwifes with covid

I had it in my first pregnancy I spotted the whole time due to the extra blood flow to cervix. Had it up until about 12 weeks in second pregnancy and currently 20 weeks in third pregnancy and not had any spotting touch wood.

Keep an eye on it and don’t hesitate to get checked out if you need to. I was sent away so many times with the same explanation but feeling very reassured and my hospital never made me feel like I was wasting their time.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Did everyone just have spotting? Since Monday night I've been having light/medium bleeding I feel silly now planning how I want my birth plan with midwife when I could possibly be miscarrying without knowing
