Names are very personal and I would never criticise anyone's choice in RL, but here goes...

Elsie - sweet but hope she's dainty or it will be awful - imagine having size 8 feet and a big nose and being called Elsie.
Isla - Like that one as long as she doesn't marry Mr White or Mr Mann!
Marcey - she'll be called Mercy but I do like it
Lexie - sounds American

Sorry have to say I really dont like Elsie. I have a 15yr old DD and I really couldnt imagine her friends calling her Elsie!
The only one I like is Lexie.
You obvioulsy are looking for something a little different. I was like you so oppted for Robyn for my DD whos now 3.

ScotGirlInOz · 17/10/2007 14:50

hi mummylittle
I have Lexie and Isla on my list and Elsie is DD's middle name.
Think Lexie Ann sounds great!

iwouldgoouttonight · 17/10/2007 14:51

My friend's daughter is called Elsie May and I think its a lovely name. I think Elsie Ann works just as well.

gibberish · 17/10/2007 14:52

Not keen on Elsie or Marcey. Not sure why thought. Like Isla too but Lexie is probably my favourite.

Marcey sounds like Ar$ey.

belgo · 17/10/2007 15:41

Elsie is lovely.

heifer · 17/10/2007 16:31

I really like Lexie

Not keen on the others tbh..

Lexie
Lexie
Lexie

bobsmum · 17/10/2007 16:41

Lexie was the girl in Monarch of the Glen years back, but was always called "Sexy Lexie' with an annoying Wegie drawl (am wegie too btw )

bobsmum · 17/10/2007 16:42

Quite like Lexie though, but would have Alexandra or Alexis/Alexa as a full name for when she becomes a barrister

lemonaid · 17/10/2007 16:50

I love Isla (but can't use it with DH's surname, sigh...)

Hayleyandbaby · 20/10/2007 18:32

Isla's lovely. Lexie's 2nd best

Tinker · 20/10/2007 19:23

Only Isla.

Marcey sounds like it should be Marcia and Lexie like it should be Alexandra (which is nice) ie neither sound like proper names

Elsie is taking teh old lady names fashion a tad too far I think

3andnogore · 20/10/2007 19:39

Marcey is really cute..also kinda like Isla....not keen on the other 2

WinkyGhoul · 20/10/2007 20:12

My name is Alexis Ann. I HATED Alexis when I was growing up owing to the Dynasty thing (nb was born a few years before Dynasty so Mum was not happy when it started!)

Wish I had shortened to Lexie - much more fun than Alex.

Alexia and Alexa are nice... Not sure I can be unbiased about Alexis!

PrincessAfterLife · 20/10/2007 20:15

Love Elsie
Like Isla (but Isla Ann doesn't sound right)
Lexie is ok
Don't like Marcey

RGPargy · 20/10/2007 20:19

My nan's name was Elsie so i will always associate it with an elderly person.

Lexie is nice too but kinda reminds me of a superman character.

dont particularly like Marcey, sorry!

Isla is the best out of those four but agree it doesn't go with Ann.

smurfgirl · 20/10/2007 20:22

I like Isla best, Marcey is lovely too but I prefer the spelling Marcie.

mummylittle · 20/11/2007 19:13

Thank you so much for all your comments and opinions!! Any more would be much appreciated as still struggling. Any other name suggestions that fit with Ann would be welcomed too as im going insane!!

Thanks

Mummylittle xx

Like Elsie best. Not sure if it quite goes with Ann.

Indifferent to Isla or Lexie.

Never heard of Marcey as a name before.
