C-Section and Arnica tablets

I've seen it mentioned on here a few times that arnica tablets can really aid with healing after a C-section. I'm scheduled for a section in 2 weeks time, I was wondering if I should start taking the tablets before or after?

If I should start them beforehand, how soon beforehand would you recommend?

I did take arnica tablets after my c section because my MIL kept banging on about them and to be honest I did heal pretty quickly.

I have also taken arnica for other things and always been told to start them at least a week before the procedure.

I started taking them about 5 days beforehand and I healed very quickly. Infact I don't remember actually having much brusing at all.

Arnica does absolutely nothing. It is a placebo that makes people feel like something is happening but it really is useless! The properly done studies on this prove it.

I agree it does nothing. Just stay on top of pain relief and you'll be fine.

Thank you for the advice ladies. I've used arnica gel on bruising as I used to do mixed martial arts and I found it helped. I'm willing to give it a go because as far as I know, it doesn't do any damage but will also keep on top of the painkillers.

I've got some tablets ordered, they should be here on the weekend hopefully so should be able to start taking them for a week before my section.
