My GP has just prescribed Prochlorperazine tablets to help with my nausea and vomiting and said to take 3x a day. However he did alarm me slightly when he said there's been no clinical trials on pregnant women however have been deemed safe with minimal risk.

The anxious me has come out and I don't want to take anything with any risk at all, no matter how minimal

Has anyone else had any experience with taking these before?

I took it in my previous pregnancy as a HG sufferer. It was part of a cocktail of drugs I was on. Perfectly fine. DS was born fine, no complications and is now a healthy 3 year old.

It hasnt done much for me this time round so I am on different ones. Fine to take in my experience.

They can't do clinical trials of any anti-nausea meds on pregnant women. It's considered unethical.

There's barely any clinical trials on breastfeeding/ pregnant women.

I took it the whole way through, orally and intravenously.

Hi,

New here, and have been reading with interest. I've been on prochlorperazine now for a couple of weeks taking 3 x (3mg buccal tabs) a day. Is it safe just to stop taking as I don't think I need it anymore, but searching the web it says you should taper off the drug, but think that might be for when it's taken in much higher doses??? I don't want to end up with any of the side effects they talk about, especially vomiting as I am also an emetophobic :-(

Does anyone have any experience, don't have a follow up with the doctors for a couple of weeks and don't want to wait that long...
