4th c-section operation dates

This is a question for any ladies who have had, or are soon to have their 4th c-section.

I was just wondering whether your operations were scheduled for 39 weeks (as is usually the case with a c-section) or because it was your 4th, they scheduled it for 38 because of the slight increase in risk?

I have to book in with my consultant soon because its getting to that time (we're gyny led in France until 24 weeks) and I was wondering what to expect.

I typically have big babies (think between 9lb10 and 10lbs - my husband is a big man 😂) and this being my 4th it is making me nervous that this potentially big baby is going to put my tired uterus under too much strain at the end, and maybe a section at 38 would be safer.

I'm probably worrying about nothing, but I hate the operation part and its making me a little anxious.

Thanks!

Hi OP! Very similar situation here! I am due my 4th section and my babies have all been big so far too. My section is scheduled for 39 weeks. There has been no mention of an earlier one, unless growth scans show any problems (I'm also 43).
How many weeks along are you?

I’m 23 weeks now so have to go and see the consultant next week. It’s been 6 years since my last baby so I’m assuming that’s plenty of time in between operations to lower the risks a bit. Apparently my placenta looks fine, which I know is one of the bigger risks, but I also read that a lot of the time problems aren’t diagnosable via scan (I’m too good at research for my own good 🙃).

How far along are you? Have you had an ‘easy’ pregnancy? Were your precious c-sections okay?
