Anyone else? Currently having a lie down. I sleep 9 hours at night and I'm still shattered during the day.

So much to do, housework and essays to write.

Any practical tips?

Sounds about right. It should improve once you're well into your second trimester. First trimester is very very hard as your placenta hasn't taken over yet. And it makes sense as you're growing a person so it's taking up all your energy. I was the same but finally feel like my normal self in second trimester. You should take naps when you can, go to bed as early as you can. Take your prenatal vitamins and perhaps an iron supplement? Anaemia can be common in pregnancy. What also worked for me was trying not to let mess around the house bother me as it's just temporary until you have your energy back. I had to just let it all go which was hard because I can be a little pedantic about cleaning.

I totally get how you feel. I’m now thirteen weeks and have finally started to feel normal again in the past week! It’s true what they say about the second trimester. So keep sleeping as much as you can and rest assured you’ll be feeling much better by Christmas Flowers

I wish I felt better in the second trimester ... I'm 17 weeks and still struggling with nausea and exhaustion at times. It has lifted slightly from the first trimester but it hasn't completely gone Sad

ArtfulScreamer · 09/11/2020 21:01

Feel your pain also 7 weeks also my second and the exhaustion has hit me like a train I really don't remember it being like this with my first. I also feel mildly nauseous constantly and again I didn't have this with my first. I'm lucky it's only mild nausea but it's still enough to annoy me and make me not much fun to be around.

Namechange8471 · 09/11/2020 21:22

Yes to the nausea also! I'm so irritable i like to retire to bed so i can be alone!
