Hi,

I’m newly pregnant and didn’t know all the rules, I’m an older mum and this is my first child. We are trying to sell our flat and I decided to paint our en-suite as it was small I didn’t think it would be a big issue, I’ve done touch ups around the house. However as it was gloss paint it took longer than expected about an hour to paint and the paint took ages to dry. My husband convinced me that the baby will be ok so we closed the door and filled in the gaps in the door but I could still smell the paint but we slept in the room and I woke up with a sore throat it’s been a week and the smell is still there but I avoid using the en-suite now. Will my baby be ok? I’m coming onto my 6th week.

Wouldn't worry about it unless you were sniffing the paint pot itself for several hours - I always decorate when I'm pregnant - I think it's a nesting thing and everything has been fine
