Pregnancy announcement ideas in lockdown 2.0!

Hi all,

I have my 12 week scan on Wednesday and I'm basing the below on hopefully receiving good news at that of course.

Now we're in a second national lockdown (I'm in England), our plans to announce our pregnancy (this will be our first baby) are a bit scuppered as we can't go and tell loved ones face to face!

I wondered if anyone has any ideas or suggestions for fun ways to announce news virtually/online? Or do you think posting hand written letters with the news might be a nice and personalised way to tell people? I think I'd like to receive some happy and unexpected post at the moment.

Or any ladies in a similiar boat, and how will you tell people? Or are you holding off until lockdown ends?

What a funny time to be pregnant for the first time Star

Pinterst have loads of cutesy ideas for this. Personally I'm not doing any cheesy announcement. As lovely as they are for some people who really enjoy putting that sort of thing together (and post all over SM expecting lots of response), for me just telling family on the phone is enough. They will be really happy with the news alone. Smile And a conversation.

I’d hold off until lockdown ends. Hopefully it’ll have ended by Christmas and you could break the news on Christmas Day! I was pregnant last Christmas and gave my family Christmas cards from the baby to break the news (grandparents for my parents, uncle/auntie cards for my siblings etc.). They all loved it. The look of surprise on their faces was priceless and such a lovely memory

I actually love the letters idea - so personal. You could write for example about how theyd make a great auntie/grandparent/whatever. For couples, you'd need to write on the envelope that they need to open it together though!

Thanks everyone! Really helpful to hear your thoughts :) we had the scan today and it went well, baby is doing well! Such a huge relief!

We've decided to write a personal letter to our grandparents, which we will send today with a scan photo. Then follow up with a call tomorrow to see if they've received it. Will be so exciting.

Think we will tell other close friends and family via Zoom and wait until lockdown is over to share with others :) won't do any SM posts as that's not really me.
