Bored and just curious 😂😪 pregnancy made me despise any chicken when I used to love it it. made me turn from the messiest person in the world to borderline OCD. made me obsessed with the smell of bleach and cleaning products and hand sanitizers I'd be smelling it all day and also makes me crave boiled kettle water 🤔

@KiriAndLou

Fanny daggers, arse javelins, weird and very vivid dreams, enhanced sense of smell, changes in vision, restless leg syndrome...

Oh, it's a laugh a minute. Grin

😂😂😂 I feel your pain!
CoalCraft · 09/11/2020 09:46

Nothing too drastic really. It put me off tea so now I drink hot squash (literally just apple and blackcurrant squash made with boiling water), not sure if that's weird? I liked it before pregnancy too.

I also like to have a lie down in the early evening these days and a few more pillows have joined DH and I in bed, but this is for the practical reasons of comfort and avoiding pain. We have less sex now but that's on DH; he thinks it's weird having his bits that close to baby Confused

But on the whole I still feel pretty much myself, just a clumsier, hungrier, more constipated version of myself. Bit disappointed really; I was looking forward to seeing what sort of loony I'd turn into.

longtompot · 09/11/2020 09:47

The smell of coffee, something I've always loved, made me sick. As soon as had my babies, coffee was safe again. However, blue Lenor made me feel really really sick. Every now and again I sniff it in the supermarket, but no, still makes me want to be sick.
My nails finally grew! I'd always bitten them, but I think they had a chance to grow with all the pregnancy hormones. I still have nails today, 20+ years later.

Spied · 09/11/2020 09:51

Made me the calm and serene.
I think both times I was pregnant were the only times in my life I felt really at peace.

Buzlightyear1 · 09/11/2020 09:56

Mine is a bit weird part of my eyebrow and my eye lashes turned white over night and my face also has white patches. I spoke to a dr and I now have vitligo . It’s not a big deal it just means my immune system attacks my pigment cells which give your skin protection from the sun and coulor. That will never go away . I also now have hay fever and eczema.

boarboar · 09/11/2020 10:04

Made my right leg swell up and it's never really returned to normal. It did go down eventually but will still swell up visibly by the end of the day.

It was the only time of my life that I was not anxious, my mind was so peaceful.

My sight got better.

I got brown marks on my face that are still visible 2 years later.

Wishing56 · 09/11/2020 10:15

My hair is now curly and my feet went up a size.

bleachblondemom · 09/11/2020 10:34

It’s made me really like white chocolate when I hated it before 😂
Also made me like my body a lot more which was a nice surprise!

Mutabilis · 09/11/2020 11:15

I also went completely off coffee, and 3 years later it still smells disgusting, on my way to work I'd smell this horrible raw sewage smell then realise it was the coffee cart. Same for dark chocolate, it used to be the only chocolate I liked so I still get it as gifts and even the smell still makes me feel sick and it tastes like ash. Also I didn't recognize my puffed up 3 day sleep deprived face in the mirror after the long labour and emergency birth, I still don't really, my face never went back to normal. I don't think the continuing sleep deprivation has helped!

Seeline · 09/11/2020 11:19

I had really bad morning sickness, and found brushing my teeth really hard.

19 years on and I still gag really badly every time I brush. Never an issue before I was pg.

DappledThings · 09/11/2020 12:01

Changed my contact lens prescription.

Meant I can now smell that weird smell your wee gets after eating asparagus. Could never smell it before. Only noticed that after having DC2, not while pregnant.

Hoppinggreen · 09/11/2020 12:02

I grew a beard but just in one place, as if someone had drawn it with a sharpie when I was pg with DS, 12 years later it’s still there

Hoppinggreen · 09/11/2020 12:03

And I can no longer eat fish

ImEatingVeryHealthilyOhYes · 09/11/2020 12:08

Took away my period pain forever! Made me more sensitive to caffeine. Increased my appetite. All permanently I reckon, it’s been 10 years.

helloxhristmas · 09/11/2020 12:09

I got fat feet, a fat nose and can no longer eat take away curry if it has sauce.

My kids are ten and I'm still afflicted!

helloxhristmas · 09/11/2020 12:09

Oh and I'm now allergic to hair dye so grey hair too.

rooarsome · 09/11/2020 12:13

Obsessed with the smell of bleach and new carpet. Also craving tactile sensations such as touching bristly rugs!

Superkale · 09/11/2020 12:15

this is 5 years after so i'd assume permanent.. also they only happened with my 2nd baby, not with my first

  • little fringe hairs grew... and my hair is thicker (hairdresser commented and asked, did you just have a baby girl? and she was right!)
  • my belly button went outie and back but it looks totally different
  • i'm less than my pre pregnancy weight, but the excess belly skin remains (all shrivelled up!)
  • my rib cage permanently expanded, i had to get new clothes
  • i had a lot more brown spots (this maybe age related, but they are in non-sun exposed parts of my body - and i've not had any sun holidays for years!!)
rooarsome · 09/11/2020 12:18

Also... facial hair Confused

CooperLooper · 09/11/2020 12:31

I'm 35 weeks atm so can't comment on whether these will last, but:

  1. Another vote for night time dream orgasms!
  2. But also cramps after orgasms which has given me a right fear of them 😭
  3. I AM COVERED IN SKIN TAGS
  4. I also have a pregnancy beard and sideburns
  5. Hairy peach fuzz belly
  6. I snore like a dying pig, but I only snore when breathing OUT and not in?
  7. Restless legs
  8. Really vivid dreams
  9. I eat and enjoy a lot more meat now than I ever used to
10. And the weirdest one... really tough thickened bits of orange peel skin on the inside of both boobs. Scared the living shite out of myself thinking I had skin cancer but 2 doctors now have told me it's just a pregnancy reaction to having heavier more fluid filled boobs! It's the pressure on the inside of my boobs dragging down when I lie on my side 🤷🏼‍♀️
SanFrancisco49er · 09/11/2020 13:05

Skin tag explosion here - I'm hoping they disappear after giving birth! (I'll take them over stretch marks though!)

Always disliked tap water but now really like it. Was a massive carnivore before pregnancy, but I'm now a lot more iffy about meat (went right off it 1st trimester)

I have sleep apnoea anyway but I now can't sleep for longer than about an hour at any time, my snoring and breathing is horrific and my poor husband has voluntarily slept in the spare room for the last 5 months or so!

I've always loved chewing a sponge or dishcloth (but don't let myself as an adult!) But I could do it all day now! Addicted to cleaning smells/bath bubbles/floor cleaner...I actually mopped the floors last week and then sat with the bucket next to me all afternoon so I could smell it!

KodakNancyEurope · 09/11/2020 13:08

When I was pregnant I really took against basil. Being a zone 2 London wanker with first pregnancy this was a BIG DEAL.

Since having children I can’t go on Merry go rounds anymore as I get dizzy as dizzy can be with only one or two turns Confused

Yerroblemom1923 · 09/11/2020 13:15

Nose went strange, ankles swollen and IBS. My ankles returned to normal once I'd given birth but still left with a bigger/ wider nose and IBS.....

jrb123 · 09/11/2020 14:12

I started to suffer with burning hot feet at night. Had to take a hot water bottle filled with icy water to bed and put it against my feet. Still get bothered with hot feet at night years later. Oh, and I went up a shoe size, too. Seems to be a thing - I hadn't realised.

KylieKangaroo · 09/11/2020 14:52

Gone off tea, I miss it so much! Hope I can drink it again as I'm half asleep every day now due to lack of caffeine.

Also both times given me the worst piles I've ever had in my life. I put vicks on my bum the other night in a fit of desperation, this has been a real low point for me this year GrinBlush
