Hi,
I got my bfp last weekend, I’ve been taking tests since to check progression (and because I’m a test addict). I’ve had positives on variety of tests, but today I took a test and it’s completely negative- not even a hint of a line. I took a clear blue yesterday and it had a visible line and a digital on Friday which said pregnant. I should be 5 weeks and 18dpo, this far on it should have a hint of a line at the very least shouldn’t it? I’m presuming it’s early miscarriage/chemical? Has anyone else been through this, thanks xxx

Hi @Pippa199Star I found out I was pregnant last NYE, just a few days later, I used another test (as there were 2 in the pack), and just to see if the line had gotten stronger as this is what happened when I first found out I was pregnant with my daughter. The line was much more faint, it instantly worried me, i did unfortunately go onto miscarry 3 weeks later. I had bleeding and was referred to EPU for a scan, which at first was inconclusive, then I went back within a week and I had miscarried naturally without any need for intervention. Have you already been in contact with midwife? x

Hi, thanks for your reply. Yes I’ve got my first appointment but it isn’t for another 3 weeks, I’ve not actually spoke to her because I had to refer myself online. Non of the lines I’ve had have been really strong but they’ve all been visible until the one I’ve taken this afternoon. My husband thinks I should just stop testing. I’m just scared after previous mmc and chemicals xx

Your urine could've been more diluted when you took the next test or it might not be a viable pregnancy. Only time will tell. Repeat testing will just stress you out tho, so don't buy anymore

@Pippa199 I had a scan at 8 weeks (basically on the day I started bleeding), which was inconclusive, then another scan at 9 weeks which had confirmed miscarriage. I did actually call the day before I started bleeding as I started having some dark discharge, which I didn’t have during my first pregnancy so again it was just another thing I was worried about. You could wait a few days and test again, if things are still the same then give your midwife a call and explain, and hopefully they would refer you to Early Pregnancy Unit for a scan? I’m not sure how early they could give you a scan, maybe next week and then you’d be 6 weeks? Sorry I hope everything works out for you x

Yes this happened to me. Got a faint line on FRER Friday. Positive on a digi Sunday. Negative on a digi Tuesday and started bleeding a few days later.

As others say it could just be your urine was dilute or the test was a faulty or not that sensitive but I would prepare yourself that it could be a chemical - sending hugs xx

Thank you. I’m going to stop testing because I’m driving myself insane (and spending a small fortune) and give it a week to see if anything happens. I’ve had previous mmc and chemicals so I’m just hoping it happens soon so I can move forward xx
