Hi, I’m 3 weeks pregnant with third baby. I’ve always suffered with HG but it’s never started until week 7/8 but I feel so sick all day and I’m sure I will be sick soon. Anyone else? Why would it happen so early? It’s the reason I knew I was pregnant as I haven’t missed a period yet. Thank you!

Hi OP. I've always been like this. I'd feel so sick well before my period was due with all of my pregnancies. I think it must just be hormonal changes taking place around implantation etc. It's usually agreed that morning sickness is mostly caused by the HCG hormone, which doesn't really rise to high enough levels until after the period is due, which is why, for most women, morning sickness is noticed later. . ...however, some women are obviously very sensitive to the other hormonal changes that take place almost as soon as the egg is fertilised, and many women do report feeling sick very early on. As I said, this has most definitely been the case with me! It also did improve a bit, before getting worse again at about six weeks.

Thanks for your reply. That makes sense. I am very sensitive to changes in hormones so this doesn’t surprise me!

Hi guys I know this is an old thread but how did it progress for you? @Somethingsnappy and @BallerinaN

Did it get worse? Or just stay level?

Hi, funny to see such an old post I wrote popping up!

I did continue to have quite bad morning sickness with the pregnancy, but only really for the first trimester. It improved after that.

How are things going with you?

@Somethingsnappy thanks for picking this thread up! I am feeling rough on and off. Trying to just take anti emetics early to reduce it starting. Did you take medication daily and did it help?

I didn't take anything. It was quite bad, but manageable, and I was used to it, as the pregnancy I was posting about was my 4th baby! Eating certain foods like grapefruit helped. And eating little and often.
