Is there any hope? 8w5d

So I am 8w5d, I am 100% certain on my dates as I was tracking cycles and got a positive result before my missed period.
I went for my first early scan today. It showed a twin pregnancy. One baby was measuring 5w6d with no heartbeat. The other was just a sac measuring 6 weeks with just a yolk.
Because this was a private scan I was told to contact epc and have to go for an nhs scan Monday.
Has anyone had anything similar happen and what was the outcome? I'm sure the second baby is not good news as was only a yolk at this stage, but is there any hope at all for baby measuring 5w6d. I think I know deep down the answer is no but im clinging to any hope possible.

I don't have any first hand experience, but as heartbeat often can't be detected till after 6 weeks, I'd say there is still hope.
It must be awful waiting, so I'm really sorry you're in this situation.
I really hope you do get good news on the next scan x

Hi OP, I recently had similar. Hoped against hope all would be ok but epu said the date discrepancy was too much to suggest viability and by the time I got home from that scan I was bleeding. Everything crossed for you that you have a different outcome. Take care.

I think if you are absolutely certain of your dates then sadly I would prepare for bad news OP. I've read measuring up to 2 weeks behind is ok but more than that was unlikely to be viable x
