Test lines getting fainter

Hi. I'm 6 weeks pregnant and am a test adict, at least one every single day. Today, there is barely a line, which after a day of backache and period like pains, I'm now paranoid. I've already had 3 miscarriages and 1 chemical pregnancy in the last 12 months.

Im on progesterone suppositories, so don't know what affect that has on anything either.
I have an early scan in a weeks time.

However, has anyone else had anything similar and gone on to have a successful pregnancy?

Thanks.

Hi @40plusmum I’m so sorry to hear about your previous losses, like you I too am a testing addict although it can do more harm than good.

I know that other posters experience back ache and period like pains and put it down as a common early pregnancy symptom.

I would suggest testing with your first urine of the day, it could be your urine is diluted. I did a ClearBlue digital at 2pm and freaked out because it said 2-3 weeks when yesterday’s was 3+ and then did another just now and it’s 3+ again so feeling reassured again. I think testing does depend on liquid intake / dilution etc.

This happened to me around week 7/8. Search the “hook effect”. Continued testing really isn’t good for your peace of mind

Sorry to hear about your losses. If your HCG levels were really so low that your test is coming up negative, I think you'd be bleeding now or very soon as you generally still test positive with an MMC. Perhaps you need to try and stop testing for a while and check again in a week. Wishing you luck.

Thanks everyone. I called the EPU this afternoon, so going in tomorrow morning.

I did another clear blue today and it said 1-2 weeks, having said 2-3 on Tuesday. Doesn't look too promising. But tomorrow will give me some answers as least.

Hope your appointment at the EPU goes well!

Just to add - this happened to me around week 8, but I’m now 15 weeks with a very health little baba growing.

So don’t stress yourself 💕
