Pregnant immediately after miscarriage - how many weeks?

After a difficult few months of recovering from a miscarriage, I found out that I am pregnant again! Yay! I am so happy and so so nervous. I am struggling to figure out how far along I am as my miscarriage was a bit complicated and my first scan isn’t for a few weeks. I got pregnant for the first time in June and had a miscarriage at 11.3 weeks on September 6th. The bleeding got lighter but never fully stopped. On September 20th I had extreme heavy bleeding and had to go to the hospital and get medicine to slow the bleeding and some clots removed via speculum. When I called the NHS mat booking, they said I’m four weeks since I didn’t know when my last period was (technically it was in June) I then spoke to the midwife and she said I’m to date myself from September 6th, the day the miscarriage started, but it could also be September 20th, from when the second round of heavy bleeding started. I didn’t expect to get pregnant right away before even getting my period again. Just wondering if anyone’s been through something similar that can share some insight while I try to muster up some patience until my scan xx

Similar here, but I had no idea, I thought..presumed I felt so unwell because had retained some of the miscarriage products.

Worried I went to EPAU as I felt so unwell I was worried about sepsis.

Anyway, they said that they would scan me to have a look.
The sonographer asked me “sooooo, what is it we are looking for?”
Irritated I replied “retained products”...
“Oh” says she...”are we not looking for this little baby then?”

I could have died!!
Turns out I was 7 weeks pregnant.

I had multiple miscarriages you see so never ever bothered taking note of periods, miscarriage dates, pregnancy test dates. There was no point because I just continuously miscarried for about 7 years.

It was a lovely ending to my story, I was 43 when I had my long awaited, much loved and desperately needed baby.
So so happy.
He’s with me now asking me to admire his thumbs (??!!??...nope, no idea what that is all about! )
Amazed he is here even now, amazed, miracle!

Thanks for sharing your stories, I’m so sorry for both of your losses. Pickypolly it’s a lovely reminder that there’s still hope. Admire those thumbs! Smile xx
