Hi all! Just wondering, did any of you have heavy periods and could still get pregnant without any issues? My ones are super heavy for the first 3 days (I need to change pad/tampon every 2 hours to feel clean as it’s almost full already) - the first night I actually wear both a pad and a tampon) and I was just wondering if this could affect getting pregnant in the future ? My gynecologist never finds anything wrong when I get checked but I’ve read worrying things online tbh.

Thank you ladies

@brunette337
Just a heavy period has nothing to do with fertility, unless you're suffering from endometriosis, cysts or polyps.
Doctors do try to palm women off with the above because surgery is required to determine it. ££.
I had heavy periods like you, where it would be all over the bathroom on first day, so totally sympathise. My heaviness was combined with horrific cramps, and enough pushing at the drs and I finally got recommended for surgery where they found a polyp. I fell pregnant the next month.
It's really your call on whether you think you have other symptoms or just heavy. Just being heavy is really bad luck, but won't stop you falling pregnant. Good luck x

Mine were so heavy I needed an iron infusion and I got pregnant on the first week of trying. I think fertility is more to do with the cycle & ovulation than the heaviness.

I have endo so had really heavy ones think it took us 3 months after coming off the pill having heavy periods shouldn’t be a problem but you could always talk to your gp
