Early Pregnancy- Doctors say Viral Infection- Help!

Found out I am about 5 weeks pregnant on the 1/11/2020. Had some aches and pains and then since the 3rd I have had serious sickness and diarrhoea, I’ve never been so ill and I can hardly keep anything down.

Rang the doctors and they think it’s just a viral infection as they say it’s too early for morning sickness but I’m just wondering if anyone has had anything similar and what it turns out to be?
It just seems odd for a viral infection to be worse in the mornings.

Thank you!

I’ve been pregnant 11 times (sadly had several miscarriages) and I know when I’m going to get a positive test as I start feeling nauseas from a couple of days before my period is due. By week five I am very sick! I don’t normally get diarrhoea though. Is the sickness improved by eating? If so then I suspect you are right and it’s morning sickness rather than a bug. Maybe you need to try a different (more sympathetic) GP. There are medications you can safely take to combat morning sickness.

Congratulations on your pregnancy Flowers

Sorry to hear that!
Nothing seems to be helping it at the moment, can’t eat anything until a lot later in the day or it makes me sicker.
I mentioned about medications for morning sickness and was told it was a risk to the baby!
I may give it a few more days and if I’m not feeling any better try again as if it was an infection it should be getting better by then

Thank you
