Normally 16 weeks but I believe no gender specific scans will run during lockdown ( England ). They may be able to look at a well-being scan but not guaranteed I think

I just had my gender scan at 15+1! We went to meet my miracle which is a chain I think they have a few across the country. I can recommend, they even gave us a little peak in 3D!!

@Honeydukesmum private scan clinics will still be open during lockdown and provide a gender specific scan.

X

I've got mine booked for when I will be 17+4 but they offer from 16w. I'm going to Window to the womb x

Both pregnancies I went on the day I turned 16 weeks exactly. Both times got the gender within a few seconds - both boys though lol x

Congrats! I’ll be 15 weeks on weds and having a gender scan on the same day.

Honeydukesmum · 02/11/2020 19:46

Our local private ones has said won’t book/will rearrange them as not ‘medical’ but perhaps not a universal decision 😀

I've got mine booked with babybond for exactly 16 weeks, which is the earliest they'll allow them. It is booked for the day after we come out of lockdown though so I'm not sure whether it will be affected if lockdown gets extended (hope not!).

SaraJean21 · 02/11/2020 20:05

I had one at 16+4 and got a very clear view it was a girl! That was with Window to the Womb.

Oneandabean · 02/11/2020 20:07

Most places I’ve seen say 16 weeks minimum as it’s too early to tell accurately before then. Many private scan places aren’t doing things like gender scans during lockdown, only if they are diagnostic scans. You may find some that will do something like a growth/wellbeing scan and tell you the gender then

Piccalily19 · 02/11/2020 21:52

We went for one at 18 weeks, said they could do from 16 but for the sake of a couple of weeks the accuracy was reported as higher. Apparently girl bits can be swollen before this point so mistaken for boys, our little ones definitely a boy though so no risk on that one 😁

Oh no! I really hope the provisions for scans and antenatal etc. Don't change for lockdown (as promised by Boris)

As this will mean hubby would have missed 2 scans 😢

I'm hoping to book one for end of this month... would be the best birthday gift ever!

I'll be 18 weeks then, which should be okay if baby's private parts are not fully formed??

16 weeks or later usually to tell the sex.

indemMUND · 02/11/2020 23:38

I went for 17 weeks though from 16 was recommended at the time, DD was very clearly a girl! She's 8 now Grin

Whatthedoodle · 03/11/2020 07:02

I went at 15 weeks and again at 17 weeks, although at 17 weeks it was a reassurance scan (as partner can’t come to 20 week scan) but they confirmed the sex. I would wait til about 17 weeks ish, just because when I went at 15 weeks i has to take the sonographers word for her being a girl because I couldn’t see anything clearly. Then at 17 weeks when she did another confirmation I could see for myself so it saves you second guessing!
