Confused about how many weeks gone i actually am..

I found out i was pregnant on Friday.. now the nurse told me that i should count from the first day of my last period...

only thing is before i actually came on properly i was spotting for around 4 days before that.. so do i count this as the first day of my period (which wouldve been monday 10th sep) or from the day i actually started bleeding (which wouldve been thurs 13th sep)???

and depending on which one i should count from how far along does it mean i am?!

i think they say from the day the bleeding starts... so you're just over 4 weeks (or is my maths totally skewed ?)

maybe your hospital could do a "dating scan" between 6-9 wks to estimate the actual week you are? Some will do this, others not.

I would count from proper bleeding starting, ie 13 Sept. That would make you 5 weeks this coming Thursday.

The scan will confirm it though, when you get it.

I had this, although spotting for one day not four, and my gp said count from first day of proper flow, ie not the spotting. So 13th September. HTH
