Hey, I’m 5 weeks pregnant (dating from my period) and I have no symptoms. My boobs are bigger, but not sore. Has anyone else experienced this? Am I over thinking?

Yes, I think it was about week 7 before it all kicked off for me.

DontFadeAway · 01/11/2020 14:52

I didn't get any symptoms until about 7 weeks then they hit me like a bus, try not to worry

Mysa74 · 01/11/2020 14:53

I wouldn't panic OP, I found out about my daughter at 23 weeks purely because a stranger, and a few days later a long term friend, asked if I was expecting... I laughed at the first one. I had no symptoms at all. My tummy popped out the day after my positive test and the easiest of births too...
Congratulations!

hobbschelsea18 · 01/11/2020 15:14

Thank you all so much, I had a MC June 2019 so I’m extra anxious this time x x

Congratulations, im 5 weeks tomorrow and I'm exactly the same, no symptoms yet, the only thing I feel is slight cramps in the evenings!

I was worried but seen a lot of others say they are the same too which has made me feel better😊 x

ZooKeeper19 · 01/11/2020 15:51

@hobbschelsea18 hey OP, I had a MC a while ago, then could not get pregnant and then when pregnant with no.1 I had no symptoms (literally zero). Now pg with no.2 (very very soon after baby 1...) and again, no symptoms at all, nothing.
Let's count ourselves lucky I say.

GlennRheeismyfavourite · 01/11/2020 16:14

The end of week 6 is when my sickness kicked in

Oneandabean · 01/11/2020 17:21

The hormone isn’t usually high enough to create symptoms until around 6 weeks, although I barely had anything at all with this one and now almost 28 weeks

SenorFrog · 01/11/2020 17:28

I barely knew I was pg with my first, no soreness, no boobs growth, no bump, no movement... until 21 weeks and then it just took off.

ticktackted · 01/11/2020 18:06

Congratulations! I felt absolutely amazing at 3-5 weeks (didn't test positive until 4 weeks, but enjoyed a total absence of PMS symptoms, which I usually get severely, so was pretty confident I was pregnant!) then at week 6 my boobs ballooned & hurt, and the hyperemesis started! I hope you don't get the latter - but it's early for symptoms and I'm sure some will show up soon!

Illy603 · 01/11/2020 19:14

I only decided to take a test last week because I realised my period was later than usual, I’ve always been irregular and I’m on the pill so pregnancy wasn’t really on my mind.

Literally, since taking the test I’ve been nauseous, my boobs ache and I’m an emotional mess. It’s like as soon as I took the test my body said, let’s give it to her 😂

I have mornings where I don’t have symptoms at all and it worries me but come late afternoon it’s like being hit by a train.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 01/11/2020 20:43

@hobbschelsea18 hey I'm five weeks today, no symptoms apart from sore boobs, I had quite uncomfortable cramping for the last week but seems to of stopped, my last pregnancy I had shocking sickness so it's worrying me too that I don't have any this time! Also had a MC so I totally understand your fear :( xxx

lenny12345 · 01/11/2020 21:05

God yes!!!! I feel for you because those early days you want symptoms so bad but I am now 11 weeks 4 days .. my symptoms randomly started at 9 and half weeks and eventually got worse ( all is fine I've been scanned weekly due to previous losses!) funny enough this is the only pregancy that has stuck!

HotDiggidy2017 · 01/11/2020 21:09

It’s hard but I wouldn’t worry, I’m 13 weeks and still no ‘real’ symptoms unless you count the rubbish ones no one talks about... constipation, waking up super early, having to go to the loo in the night and lack of concentration. And even those didn’t start till about week 7!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 01/11/2020 21:44

@HotDiggidy2017 I wake up super early too! That is a symptom I forgot about! But I had it before my Mc! I wake up at about four am and then can't sleep again

GanderousGoose · 01/11/2020 23:34

Ha I thought the early waking was just me! Didn't realise it was a common symptom. Often around 4am for me as well.

DelurkingAJ · 01/11/2020 23:38

I was a mere 8 weeks off with my expected due date with DS1 due to an utter absence of symptoms. I’d have been the same with DS2 if I hadn’t told the midwife I was much further along than I should be. She clearly thought I was bonkers until I reminded her that with DS1 I’d never had a 12 weeks scan because I was 20 weeks...

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

allfurcoatnoknickers · 02/11/2020 01:22

I didn't even know I was pregnant until I started throwing up in week 7! No symptoms at all, nothing, not even sore boobs. Felt totally normal, then at week 7 it all went to shit and I spent the next 30 weeks crippled by nausea and vomiting constantly.

hobbschelsea18 · 02/11/2020 09:33

Thank you all for your responses of reassurance Smile

I'm sure it is a case of everyone being different.

I didn't even think waking in the middle of the night with difficulty going back to sleep was a symptom Shock and I've definitely experienced that the last week. My boobs are definitely bigger, but not sore. I think I should count myself lucky at this point.

Congratulations to you all too, this is one hell of a journey! X x

Skyla01 · 02/11/2020 12:38

I don't think I had many symptoms at all at 5 weeks. Frequent peeing especially at night was probably the first thing I noticed. But by 7 weeks I was feeling horrific. Hope you get off lightly!

hobbschelsea18 · 03/11/2020 12:16

Thank you @Skyla01Smile I’m such an over thinker especially after MC last year. I notice the odd twinge now and again and I keep waking once every night wide awake with difficulty going back to sleep. I think at this point I should count myself lucky x x

@hobbschelsea18 try not to worry, I'm currently 10+4 and unless I knew I was pregnant, I would have had no idea! I expected to spend the first trimester with my head in the loo, but my symptoms have been very mild. Even the ones I had are easing off now as I assume the placenta is taking over. It can feel disconcerting to not have symptoms, especially after a loss, because with symptoms you have something tangible to tie to your pregnancy. Many people on MN say we're lucky, but it's actually very stressful to have constant anxiety about whether this is going to end again.

When you hit 7-weeks, and still have no/mild symptoms, try not to worry. It's really common and so many of us experience it like that.

If you can afford to, pop along for an early scan around 8 weeks, it really did help calm me and know that despite how I was feeling, everything is progressing as it should :-)

hobbschelsea18 · 03/11/2020 14:27

Hi @jazzibelle,

Firstly, congratulations Smile How're you finding things? Is this Baby #1?

Thank you for your words of reassurance, I agree the lack of symptoms is very stressful. Last time I experienced very sore boobs, which randomly stopped and then a few weeks later I had the MC so this time I'm overthinking anything / everything.

I did experience sore boobs this time, only leading up to my expected period but they are fine now - definitely bigger but no pain. I have booked a scan for 19 November which will make me 7+3 (from LMP) just for added reassurance and I have a telephone consultation with my Community Midwife tomorrow.

A lot of other posters say to count myself lucky, I know I am very early in the pregnancy so this may well be the calm before the storm xx

AnxiousAnnie86 · 03/11/2020 15:32

@hobbschelsea18 the only symptoms I have are sore boobs but they are no where near as sore as they were!! I'm 5 weeks 1 day or 7w 3 days if I go off my lmp

I have no idea which to go from, I say 5wk 1 day as I know when I ovulated... I'm not sure which the doc will count from?!

hobbschelsea18 · 03/11/2020 15:41

Hey @AnxiousAnnie86 I’ve been working from LMP as I don’t know what day I ovulated. I think that’s how the GP dates it but in your case it could be different if you know exactly when you ovulated?

I did a ClearBlue digital last Wednesday and it was 1-2 weeks, then Thursday 2-3 weeks and again 2-3 weeks today which is approx when I would have conceived. I’m hoping I do another digital on Thursday of this week and it’s 3+.

Gosh I never knew pregnancy would be so stressful, I over think anything and everything xx
