Early pregnancy

Hi, I wrote a while ago on here wishing to get a BFP but didn’t. I have just found out 6 days ago that I am pregnant. I got an early scan done yesterday at 4+5 weeks and my womb has thickened, no sign of ectopic pregnancy but no sac was seen yet. Is this normal? Going back for a scan on Wednesday and will be 5+3 by then and praying there’s a sac then🤷🏻‍♀️

Completely normal to not see anything this early so try not to worry, I'm surprised anywhere agreed to scan so early! The earliest most places will scan is 6 weeks as that's when you can usually see something xx

Oh really? Thank god! The midwife wanted me to get one this early because every morning I got up, I was getting a sharp pain in my right side and she wanted to rule out ectopic. But said there’s no sign of it and also said, I released the egg from my left ovary, so if the pain was on the left side, it would have been more of a chance of it being ectopic. I’m petrified in case she doesn’t see a sac on Wednesday.

Hi, I went for an ultrasound last Wednesday and was wondering if anyone can see 2 sacs? I was 5+3 weeks then.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! It will all go very well I am sure of it. It is very normal to not see anything as it is too early to see anything at this stage. They were able to see things at my week 6 scan.

The place I went to for my private scan do not scan before 8 weeks as it can be extremely worrying if there is little seen on scans earlier than this! Maybe get a scan a bit later on and you will be able to see more?

I have another scan on the 17th and I will make me 7+2 weeks. I am praying I see more in that scan.

Hi! Just an update, I posted last week with an early scan and got another one today, hoping I would see a yolk sac and a baby. I DID!!!!😊 it turns out I’m actually only 5 weeks or so instead of 6 tho!

Hi @Vantheman95 congratulations, I’m happy everything was fine at your second scan. May I ask if you are calculating dates from LMP and whether it was an abdominal scan? I’m 6+3 from LMP and have an early scan next Thursday making me 7+3 so just wondering what I’ll be able to see from an abdominal scan

What was your crl length If you don’t mind me asking? Was this dating you exactly 5 weeks?

I calculated from the first day of my last period, which was 6+4 weeks. But the midwife said today I’m definitely not and that I’m 5 weeks or so.

@JackieDaytonaa Thank you!! I’m not sure what the crl was measuring, she did measure it but didn’t say🤷🏻‍♀️
