not sure what to think

Hi Everyone- I hope you guys can give me some of your own imput on this. First of all I know I'm probally jumping to conclusions and worrying too soon but here goes.

My period is actually due today (27-28day cycle). I know I'm not actually late yet but my problem is that I have been having very mild cramps on and off for the past 2 weeks. I normally only get them 2-3 days before my period which dont even stay anyway. I dont think I am pregnant but there is that possibility. When I was pregnant with my 3rd I had small pms like cramps a little after my period became late. It felt as if I was going to get my period anytime. Other then the cramps I didnt feel any other pre pms symptoms until later. So what do you guys think? Do any of you ever have mild cramps so soon before you actually suppose to get your period. Also if I were in fact pregnant would I have this cramping so soon even before my period is late? When I was pregnant with my 3rd I think when I did have these cramps I was already days late from getting a period. I know after having 3 kids I shouldnt even have to ask these stupid questions. Sometimes you forget when its been so long and its nice to have reassurance. I probally shouldnt assume anything for at least another week.

Before I was pregnant I would notice cramps each month when I was ovulating. So it could be this.

Or, you might be pregnant? Nip out and get a test. It's the only way to be sure. What's your gut feeling?

Hi nics1stbaby, I dont know what to feel. These cramps are so mild and have been lingering for so long everyday not like normal period cramps. I normally feel bloated around my period. I know I have already ovulated probally 1 1/2 - 2 wks ago. I always have that bothersome discharge around ovulation time. Sorry to sound blunt. I did do a test 2 days ago which was neg. I am going to wait till at least wed or thur when I'm a few days late and if I am preg then I'll have enough preg hormone in me to detech it right away.

Threeangels, I only found out that I was p/g because I kept telling dh that my period was coming as I was getting cramp - in my back. The feeling was exactly like pms. After a week of this he sent me off to do a test, which I thought was a total waste of money, so you can imagine my surprise when it was positive! However, I was 4-5 week's gone by this time. I agree, do a test.

My accidental baby is the best thing that's ever happened to me!

Hi Nics1stbaby, Ionesmum, and Sobernow - Well I took a hpt this morning and was neg. I cant remember my last period though so maybe I need to wait a little while longer. I couldnt wait till later this week you know how hard that is. I just dont understand how I could feel this way and still be neg. Its so frustrating.

threeanggels, when my sn was 10mths and I was still bf I noticed my period was a couple of days late and I felt a bit odd. I did a pg test and it was neg so I got on with digging out the back garden. A few days later still no period, still feeling odd I was convinced I was pg. I went to the dr who did a test but it was still neg. I was really concerned as I'd been doing loads of heavy lifting and stuff and needed to stop if pg. I spoke the the recpetionist and she told me that the drs tests weren't very good and I'd be best to repeat a home one. I did and it was +. I couldn't beleive it. I was one week after my period was due. I think i must have ovulated a week late. So you always need to count 14 days from when you ovulated. Don't give up but do your best to hang on a fair bit longer before repeating otherwise it gets pretty expensive.

Thanks Katherine - This is so frustrating. I really dont feel myself at all. I keep having these bouts of queasiness (especially in the middle of the night), stuffy nose, aches in bach, pms like cramps off and on way before me AF was do and especially odd feelings in my stomach. These are all the feelings I had with my other children and yet I'm still neg. I thought if you had all these symptoms you would have enough homone to detect pregnancy. The worst part is that I thought I knew my last period and now I have no clue. The only thing I do remember is that is started somewhere in the middle last part of August. I'm going to a doctor Fri for some other problems so I was planning to see if I can have a blood test done.

What do you think I should tell them about when I had my last period. I hate the guessing and not lnowing if I am expecting.

When I told my dh what I was feeling and thinking he ask me is it possible i could be imagining this because i have been under much sress over a family siuation. I told hin I doubt it because I only just started to think I may be pregnant a few days ago. Now when i think about it Ive been this way even before that. I just didnt think anything of it because we werent planning to have any more children and were taking precautions. Oh well I guess I'll have to wait till Fri. Thanks for your thoughts

ThreeAngels, I'm not very knowledgable about the subject esp not the hormonal details but could you have an ectopic pregnancy there? They can be very dangerous, so I think you need to get checked out asap. Good luck.

I'm not sure but I suspect with an ectopic you would still get pg hormones and so a pg result. I think its more likely that if pg, the baby was concieved late in the cycle so there is not enough hormone yet.

Hello Everyone, Well I went and had a blood test done and it was neg. I dont feel 100% confident though. If I didnt have these symptoms like my other 3 I would except the results. The main issue above all is that I cant recall when my last period started which even the doctor said could of given me the wrong result if I dont have enough HCG in me.

Have any of you had blood tests done and had a negative result? I was told to give it till next Mon. I went on the internet and saw other womens stories of how they got a neg blood test and founnd out 1-2 wks later they were indeed preg. I also read one who had 2 hpt positive and went in to confirm and the blood test ended up neg. Then a week later it was positive. I guess everyones different.I was wondering how soon did some of you start having pregnancy symptoms? What were they? This is probally the worst thing to have to wait for and I'm sure you guys would understand totally.

My symptons were backache and tender boobs almost immediately (2 weeks before period was due).

Hi nics1stbaby - I went to have a yearly examine today. Its been 2 yrs and I was due anyway. I did the urine test. It came back neg. I still have minor pms like cramps along with small preg symptoms. The doc said since I had a couple home test, a blood test and todays urine test all neg I should just call it "not pregnant". She said give it one more week since I'm not sure when I had my last period and then she will give me something to start it up again. She told me the blood test is accurate enough. If I dont continue to have symptoms and no period by next Mon I think I will test at home again. I probally sound crazy but not getting a period when you think your suppose to can really make you panic. Thanks again.
