Hi, just want to hear stories of ladies who have successfully conceived when depressed..... I'm worried being depressed will stop it happening and that's making me worry more. I'm fed up of the saying just relax and it'll happen. Positives only please I'm already negative.

Are there some steps you could take beforehand to try and improve your depression symptoms? My concern is that when pregnant, with all the hormonal changes that take place, it could make things worse. Also sometimes people have to come of anti-depressants when pregnant I think. I don't suffer with depression anymore, but had it bad in my teens and 20s. There have been times during my pregnancy when I have found myself back in a dark state of mind, for inexplicable reasons. Some people breeze through pregnancy and hopefully that would be the case for you, but many like me find it physically and mentally tough.

I have depression and anxiety and am on medication. Currently 12 weeks pregnant with a surprise baby. Midwife / GP will probably keep a closer eye if you have pre existing depression, but it shouldn’t affect ttc. Just make sure it doesn’t become the be all and end all, otherwise if it doesn’t happen right away it may make your head worse. Good luck

Henni85 thank you, yes this is what i needed to hear you've reassured me. What medication do you take....as I'm not currently on any, but did try some anti depressants, but they affected my periods so had to stop.
