Newborn essentials

So here's my list for newborn essentials.
Is there anything I've missed?
31 weeks today, and with lockdown looking, just want to make sure I've got everything sorted.
Luckily I had a lot of bits from DS1.

Also have my hospital bag bits almost ready too.

Congratulations. Are you having another boy?

Aahh99 · 31/10/2020 18:32

I am 31 weeks as well and the only things I have bought so far are his clothes, muslins, cot, changing table and a mat. Nothing else. I am now worrying after seeing your completed lists 😬

More than 2 bras. Sleep bras too, especially if you are planning on BF (looks that way).

If this is your 2nd and you are confident with bf please ignore this but some ready made formula bottles just in case. Good luck!

OhTheRoses · 31/10/2020 20:20

Love.

sunflower2020 · 31/10/2020 20:26

Congrats on your baby!
Really good list :) wish I had that when I had my first in March.
Maybe add a swaddle?
All the best for the rest of your pregnancySmile

ChunkyButFunky87 · 31/10/2020 20:35

Spritz for bits for you!!

Aahh99 · 31/10/2020 20:45

Thanks bobbiepin, I may get some More nursing bras, especially some comfy one to sleep in.
Remember my boobs being so painful and full the first few weeks and dashing into a shop in town for softer bras as I was so sore.
Ill have a rummage in my drawer, maybe i kept some bras from Last time.
Ds took to BF amazingly, so hoping this one will too. Fingers crossed.

I did buy formula first time round but never used it. Managed to feed for 14 months with DS.

I think I got a double pack of soft nursing sleep bras from H&M.

Is this child the same season as your first? I vote for a really warm dressing gown and warm pyjamas to keep you cosy while doing night feeds keeping the duvet away from the baby.

BertieBotts · 31/10/2020 20:51

And a thermos mug! For coffee! Lots of coffee to keep up with the toddler. Get one they can't spill over themselves and which will keep the coffee hot!

BertieBotts · 31/10/2020 20:53

Would also get as much Christmas stuff sorted as poss before the birth.

KinderWild · 31/10/2020 21:05

Baby carrier? E.g ergobaby, Tula

Aahh99 · 31/10/2020 21:08

Oh defo, Xmas is sorted.
I've got all DS presents the last few weeks.
OH laughed at me but I'm glad I did it now!
Were hopefully going to my mums for Xmas as I'll be 38 weeks, (fingers crossed) so don't need to worry too much about food.

@KinderWild I never got on with a sling last time. Brought one for 80 quid and barely used it.
Will see how it goes, can always order if I think I need one.

@bertiebotts, kinda, DS son was born late September, this one due early Jan.
So I do have one fleecy all in one pj for feeding with him, as was freezing feeding him at night.
I may ask for another for Xmas 😂

BertieBotts · 31/10/2020 21:32

Oh yeah late September is basically winter. I had one late August, prepared all the summer things Hmm by the time we got out of hospital it was freezing and rainy!

Bobbiepin · 31/10/2020 22:12

H&M soft nursing bras were the best I found but I think that depends on the size of your boobs.

The coffee cup is a great idea. Is new baby getting DS a present? Maybe something quiet that will amuse him with some independent play for a while?
