Hey all!

So long story short, we had our 20 week anomaly scan today and we were told that I have a posterior placenta which is facing the cervix, they explained that usually the placenta will correct itself or move elsewhere which is safer, but I know if it doesn't it can lead to placenta previa 😱

I know I'm reading way too much into it too soon, but has this happened to anyone else? If so what was the outcome??

Thanks ladies!
X

There is guidance on the Tommy's website about this. My placenta moved from completely covering the cervix to fundal position in less than 2 weeks! It can happen very quickly. Will the scan you again to check?

I had this and it did move!

I had this OP, and was told that nine times out of ten it'll move further up as the uterus grows. Mine has moved!

Thanks so much ladies and sorry for the delayed reply (I've been horribly unwell.) but all well with little man.

Also did you have a scan at 32 weeks to see if it had moved? I've only been asked to attend a 36 week one which is routine isn't it...

Thank you again! I feel better now x
