Lip fillers/botox pre pregnancy? Anyone ever had them

Starting this off by asking for no judgment please! I’m mentioning something further down and while you may not believe, I kind of do! (Re: psychics)

So, me and my fiancé are eTTC, first month is done and BFN with AF arrival. Bit gutted as were both pretty young and healthy so thought we’d be one of those stories you hear people getting pregnant first try!

However, whilst being upset I spoke to a psychic. She mentioned certain months (3 coming soonish) that she believed are significant in our journey at that they could be months we conceive/find out or a due date month. This can happen within the next 12 months. So whilst it filled me with hope I also had a feeling of “if you’re not getting pregnant for a few months, why not get lip fillers and Botox like you wanted”

However, I’m a bit skeptical in case I get them and fall pregnant that month! Rationally I’m thinking hold off until we’ve had our 1st child

But another question is has anyone had them between children? I would hopefully like 3/4 but was planning after we’ve hopefully had this child that I’d get them

Would it affect future pregnancies/babies? Should I hold off ultimately until we’re done having children?

Again please no judgement about what I mentioned earlier! A friend recommended this lady as she was spot on for her and I thought it doesn’t hurt if it brings me a bit of comfort!

And to clarify I’ve not had fillers/Botox as of yet!

If you want the fillers and both and can afford it then have them. Why would ttc stop you other than financially?

The person who does them is my brothers girlfriend and she’s a nurse so I feel I could ask her? But I’d have to tell her I’m TTC and she’d then tell my brother and we kind of want to keep it on the down low

Nothing us advised for pregnancy. No one will do any tests on a pregnant woman! Hence why it's bloody impossible to get any pills when you're pregnant and poorly!

Do some research, ask why it's not suitable and make up your own mind.

It’s completely personal preference. Some people do, some people don’t.

I had Botox before I was TTC but stopped when TTC as the risks are unknown and tbh it just felt like a waste of money. I conceived after 5 months and I’m glad I didn’t get it whilst trying as wouldn’t have been able to have the upkeep!

@Littlebee1990 really? I mainly want the Botox as she stated it’ll be good for my forehead spots as they’re sweat related and I have a few tiny fine lines

I wouldn’t normally be able to afford it but she’d give major discount/it for free due to being family!

It's not judgmental to say that psychics are not in anyway real. Not even a little bit. Seriously, they take your money and tell you what you want to hear. Read up on 'cold readings' as a start. You might as well take any money you spend on a psychic and set it alight for all the good it does or truth you learn.

As for botox and fillers, speak to the qualified professional who would be doing the procedure. Any doctor would be very well versed in if it's a good idea to have it done whilst TTC. As long as it is a real doctor you see and not another fraud who does liposuction in her living room.

@BrumBoo yeah I don’t mind people disagreeing with them/not believing. I just didn’t want to be called ‘stupid’ or lectured! My friend mentioned it in our group and everyone kind of went in on her, I understand not believing but she got called stupid etc was a bit mean!

And thank you, probably best to ask a doctor! I do trust my SIL to do them she’s fully qualified and trained but probably would like a 2nd opinion from a doctor

Answer to main question, yes I had Botox January 2020 but started TTC April 2020 and never had it topped up after that. Tbh I wish I hadn’t had it done because I loved the look and now hate the wrinkles being back 😂

I haven't had the procedures and personally wouldn't whilst actively TTC.

To be quite honest, not being sure would be enough to put me off until I had my children. Though it never seemed to stop the Kardashians (despite how ridiculous they look).

Well psychics aren't real so I wouldn't put too much by what they said convenient that she left it wonderfully vague on the dates, big difference between a due date and a conception!

Just schedule it for your next period so you know you're not pregnant. Its not something youd want to do while pregnant but some people do have it for medical reasons and continue through pregnancy so having it a few weeks before shouldn't be a problem.
But bear in mind it'll wear off during your pregnanc, and breast feeding would stop you getting a top up so it might be very short lived.

Thanks everyone! My main worry was if I got it when I knew I definitely wasn’t pregnant and then got pregnant the month after would it affect the baby

I assume it would affect the baby if I had it during pregnancy (would never do this) so it’s okay to get before pregnancy

Hi Op, I get lip fillers every 6-12 months, last had them 2 months before I got pregnant.
I spoke to the lady who does mine and she said they refuse to do them on pregnant ladies as there isn't any research on it. In most cases it's likely you would be fine, but they wouldn't want to take the risk.
If you get botox/fillers when you aren't pregnant and then get pregnant a month or two later, I don't see how this would cause any issues.
I know quite a few ladies who have regularly got filler for years and then had a baby and it's been absolutely fine. Just don't get it when you know you're pregnant, not that an aesthetic practitioner would do it for you anyway

I had it done the month I conceived. Actually, pretty much the day I conceived! Had it for a couple of years before that. Not a problem whatsoever. Saddest part is not being able to have it done during pregnancy; my wrinkles are coming back and I hate it!
As for who does it, go to a medical professional - doctor or dentist. Anyone on the streets can get qualified, but it doesn't mean they should.

Fillers, it really depends what they contain. Botox was always thought not to be able to travel far from the injection site, but that has now been disproven. Ideally you would want to wait until the Botox is fully broken down by your body (around 3/4 months) before trying to conceive.

I had lip fillers every 3 months whilst trying to conceive and last had them about 4 weeks before falling pregnant. I’d say go for it! The face swells naturally during pregnancy and my lips actually ended up looking fabulous the whole 9 months without my usual top ups. Best of luck, hope things work out the way you would like
