Has anyone used this before? I was meant to have a booking appointment btw 7-9 weeks but when no one called I rang the hospital and they told me they would do everything @ my nuchal scan. Long behold, the scan was today and everyone was surprised I hadn’t had my booking app yet. They took blood to test for everything anyway. The sonographer said the results may be available tomorrow and she would upload to the app. Unfortunately the app was only showing me my previous pregnancy which ended in a miscarriage. I contacted the midwife team who gave me access to add the new pregnancy but the info on there is so bare. Literally nothing as I haven’t done my booking app yet. They said 1-2 weeks for the appointment 😭 I just feel so lost. The sonographer said if there is an issue they would call so I’m hoping for no call tomorrow but would be great to know the details of my scan etc. I don’t have an actual midwife to call. Anyone had this before?

I’ve never heard of the app but I’d just ring the number you called for the hospital and they should put you in touch with someone who can help

Hi OP,

If you give the hospital switchboard a call in the daytime they should be able to put you through to antenatal clinic reception, or to the lead midwife for community or antenatal clinics who will be able to chase up your booking appointment. If the lead isn’t available they should be able to give you their email address. If you’ve had your scan then you should be getting booked sooner rather than later. Flowers

Even if your booking will be in a local clinic there is always someone in charge of Community midwifery services and the antenatal booking process. It’s tough trying to navigate a big system when it’s not quite going right.

The hospital website might have some contact details for the right department (some are better than others).

Ooh also if you take a look on the app, if it is the one with the purple icon, your hospital may have uploaded their information leaflets onto it so have a fish around as there might be some info on there to give you a bit more and reassure you while you wait.

First of all congratulations on your pregnancy, I know you must be very anxious after your last pregnancy. Sounds like they have their wires crossed somewhere. I know where we live booking appt we're still going ahead but done over the phone now due to Covid . And we have to ring up to book it. You can always talk to the community midwives, you can usually find their number for your area with a quick Internet search, failing that get in touch with your GP and they may be able to reassure you/ chase up or point you in the right direction. Best of luck with your little bean x
