I’m 40 wks tomorrow, My DD is 3.5 and so fed up with mummy being slow and boring! I’m forever telling her to be careful to mummy’s tummy, and no I’m sorry I can’t sit on the floor... etc etc etc!

I’m expecting to go another 2 weeks yet (like last time!) so.. has anyone got any advice on how to entertain the poor child?!

(Other than 12 hour CBeebies marathons that is!)

I'm 36 weeks and have a 4yo. I'm still feeling relatively fit although I can't run around after him, can sit on the floor and get up etc though (expecting this to change when I'm 40 weeks though ).

Something we've been doing recently is having discos in the living room with balloons, lights and music. We hit the balloons to each other and he dances/ runs around.
He also likes musical statues and musical bumps.
He also likes coming in the shower with me then stays under the water playing with toys while I dry, moisturise & get dressed so that kills some time too.
There are no soft plays open here and no household visiting which makes it tricky.

Is your dd at nursery? My ds is in for 20 hours a week and I finish work in a few days which means I can at least rest during those hours 🤞🏻

@36weekswithno2 living room disco is a great idea! She’ll love that! [rushes off to buy some disco lights..!]

No sadly she’s not at nursery until January. She does go to her cousins two days a week and granny also helps out. So I’m luckier than some.
But sometimes the days feel loooooong and I’m so ruddy uncomfortable now!

Thanks for your reply :)

How about reading books and playing games on your bed, where you feel most comfortable? When I was heavily pregnant, that's what I used to do with my other kids. Couldn't sit on the floor either. So my bed became like a playground

Play doctors? She needs to check your feet, ears, elbows etc.

Spa, she needs to massage your hands, brush your hair, rub cream into your feet.

Tea party, she needs to bring you tea and sandwiches.

Teachers, she is the teacher and you are the pupil.

All of these may involve slight discomfort but allow you to be sitting/lying on the sofa...

Thank you @Lilice and @minipie these are great! My imagination brain is totally frazzled so I appreciate the fresh input xx
