Hi everyone!
Just wondering if anybody can offer me some advice ? I've literally just found out im pregnant. I must be about 4 weeks. Im really early. Both me and my partner are over the moon but also very apprehensive as this as our first.
My question is more to do with finances. I am currently in my last year of my nursing course. I only have 5 months to go so I will be able to complete this before I give birth. I have a part time job at b&q but only started that last July. I am concerned about what I will do for maternity pay. I think I have to have been working at b&q for two years before I can get maternity pay.
Obviously I don't have a nursing job yet but even if I get one before I qualify In March I won't be able to claim maternity as I won't have been there long enough.
Any advice?

I thought legally there was a set amount of weeks you have to be working for an employer to claim maternity pay. It’s definitely less than 2 years, I don’t think they can refuse to give you maternity pay. Look on the gov uk website. You should qualify for it
