Swaddles for newborns

Hi

My baby is due end of January so likely to still be quite chilly so I was looking at 1 tog and 2.5 tog options.

I'd really like to swaddle my baby (if they like it) as I know it helps them sleep. I've seen the Tommy Tippee Snuggles but all the reviews say the 0-3 months were too small across the chest for even their 7lb newborn. Would it be ok just to get the 3-9 month size?

Any other higher tog swaddle sleepsacks you would recommend?

I was gifted some swaddle ups but they are very light weight and I worry my baby might get chilly as her room is north facing.

Have a look at Love to Dream arms up swaddles. They’re very stretchy and the Small size fitted my chunky baby no problem. They come in 2.5 tog versions.

By Swaddle Up, do you mean Love to Dream actually? Because I was the same, given some thin ones for a winter baby. I put a long sleeved vest and baby grow underneath. Because he couldn’t roll at that age, I put him in the feet to foot position of the crib, with a cellular blanket tucked tightly over the top which worked fine for us. Because he was sleeping in our room anyway, I could keep an eye on the temp and stop the room getting freezing anyway.

Hi @FizzingWhizzbee123! Yes I mean the Love to Dream ones. I've been given the lightweight cotton ones rather than the higher tog versions. Good to know they will still be toasty enough with a blanket on. I was reluctant to buy them again in the 2.5 tog version too.

Still after another type in case baby doesn't get on with the Love to Dream ones.
