Food poisoning when pregnant

I’m 33 weeks pregnant and I’m pretty sure I have food poisoning. Had reheated veggie curry and rice for dinner last night. A couple of hours later I vomited and felt very hot and sweaty. Managed to fall asleep then woke up at about 4am and had very bad diarrhoea. I haven’t had an ‘episode’ of illness since then, but feel generally nauseous and hot and miserable. No temperature (temp is actually low at 35.5c but I always run a little cooler than average).

Do I need to contact my midwife? I’m happy to just see it out with water and rest, but I know food poisoning can be harmful to the baby in some circumstances. I don’t know if I need to get in touch or not?

No you don't. Just rest and keep hydrated. If you become dehydrated let them know, otherwise there's nothing much to be done. Stick to plain foods for a few days.

Thank you - that’s reassuring! A quiet day of plain toast and lots of water for me, I think.
