Morning sickness survival/hand hold needed

6+3 with an ivf baby - this is my second. I’ve had some bleeding and spotting and have a reassurance/viability scan tomorrow. But I bled until 19 weeks with DS.

But I don’t remember this sickness. I’m on HRT (estrogen and progesterone) to support the pregnancy as normal in frozen embryo transfer.

Nausea has ramped up over the last few days and I just don’t know how I can cope with work and toddler and just feeling rotten. I’m trying to eat little and often but the room is spinning and it doesn’t lift until the afternoon.

I did get some sickness with my son and it got to the point where my gp gave me an injection and some tablets (which made me drowsy) but that was after vomiting all day. I’m not actually being sick just like permanent motion sickness.

Sorry I just need a bit of a pity party.

Sorry you're feeling rough. I feel for you. I am 14 weeks and had nausea at the beginning annoyingly orogreased around week 10 to vomiting
I found the anti sickness bands helped with the feeling of nausea, as did keeping hydrated and constantly sucking mints (my teeth aren't thanking me).
I also got a kids toothbrush head for my electric toothbrush. Much smaller and less gagging.

The tablets you had last time were likely antihistamine-based ones. there are lots of anti-nausea medications they can offer you. I had Stemetil (prochlorperazine) which is a different family of medicines and was transformative for me. Definitely ask your doctor to try something else.

You can ask you GP for medication. I had some for nausea only.

Hello all, thanks for the advice. Well the scan on Tuesday showed a healthy sack and a strong heart beat.

I am as rough as old boots though. I got procholorperizane from gp and whilst it’s taken the nausea away I still can’t look at or even think about food

If you’re still struggling go back to the gp. Some people need to take more than one of the medicines at a time. If the nausea has died down, some of the other recommendations might now help eg eat little and often, bland carbs, eat a snack on waking. None of those helped me before I had the tablets but might compliment the tablets. Also I had to increase my dose so that’s an option to discuss with the gp too.

I'm pregnant with #4 and my sickness started at 6 weeks and disappeared out of no where at 10 weeks!

Go back to GP there are many different types I tried a few till I found the one that worked for me. Acupuncture was also a lifesaver for me and would give such relief. I also found Myrtle & Maude morning sickness drops helpful too. It’s the worst hope you get relief soon!

Agree with eating bland food little and often
Try the anti sickness band . It worked for me.
Rest when you can

Struggling too. It's just emotionally exhausting and even more so because I have to pretend to everyone at work, friends and family that I'm fine. I'm 7+1 and the past few days I've been massaging my stomach (avoiding lower abdomen of course) and this really seems to help get the digestion going.

Some of my sickness seems to be due to acid reflux. I've found chewing gum helpful.

Thanks all. Absolutely misery all weekend, on phone to nhs 24 twice yesterday and finally got a lovely pharmacist who got me a Rx for cycziline filled at a late night pharmacy. It’s helping more as I couldn’t tolerate the dissolving tablets going all chalky in my mouth. But I’m still being sick a little bit and I’m completely wiped out. DH has been a super star with DS but he is exhausted too. Everything is making me gag. No idea how to get through work tomorrow, wfh office based job but it’s the busiest week if the month and my colleague is signed off with Covid.
