Hi guys, trying not to stress or get ahead of myself here, for about a week I have been having period like cramping in my lower abdomen. I am 6+2 weeks. Today it has been noticeably stronger... and actually quite uncomfortable, is this something I should chat to my GP about?
Or will it pass?
I have had not bleeding and it's not more one one side or the other.

I had this around 6 weeks, I was so worried I had a private scan but it was fine!

Hi Op,
I'm 5+3 today and since I found out I was pregnant I've been getting period type cramps as well. I think because it feels like your period is coming that's what makes it worrying.

When I'm experiencing any cramping I change position or stand up and walk around and it does make it better sometimes.
If it makes you feel any better I had exactly the same thing with my son and he is now 5 Smile

I think if they are accompanied by blood or they are making you double over then maybe give the EPAU a call and see what they say xx

@Rosieposie07 and @readyforroundtwo I've had this on and off so far through my pregnancy. I went for a scan and although everything was alright and cramps are normal they told me. ANY woman experiencing cramping should be seen just in case everything is not fine. So I would call your Early pregnancy unit in your hospital. This goes the same for bleeding.

Hey, thanks so much for the advice, it's really reassuring to hear other people have had this too! Woke me up a couple of times last night.
I'm gonna give my GP a call and see what he says, our service is all changing by the day with this Covid.... I'm not even sure how the EPC works, I think you have to have a referral.
Anyway I will let you know.

I had v bad cramps with no bleeding throughout my pregnancy, all was fine but it terrified me

Rosieposie07 · 26/10/2020 09:56

@AriesTheRam did you contact your GP or midwife?

So my Gp contacted the EPC and they called me, didn't want to see me, just offered reassurance that this is quite common, and to call back if anything worse happens XX

I had a lot of these cramps in my last pregnancy (DD now 15 months). I was assured cramps without bleeding is quite normal.

AriesTheRam · 26/10/2020 16:25

I saw the midwife and had nhs scans nearly every month due to anxiety caused by the pains

Sitchervice · 26/10/2020 17:05

@Rosieposie07 hmm this is very strange. My epu wanted to see me right away when I mentioned the pains I was having

Rosieposie07 · 26/10/2020 17:49

@Sitchervice I kinda wish they did see me as I'm starting to feel a bit anxious about it now, I have booked a private scan for the end of the week, hopefully the pains settle xx

@Rosieposie07 is it on one particular side?

Rosieposie07 · 26/10/2020 18:08

@Sitchervice no it's evenly across, from one side to another in my pelvis xx
