I'm 31w, got this rash on exactly one half of my bump, anyone had this or know what it could be? It's not itchy or painful. Thanks!

Odd for it to be one-sided like that, I would send these pics to your midwife.

I have shown my midwife but she barely looked at it and sort of dismissed me, it's not gone away which is why I'm asking on here. Reckon I should phone triage? I'm a FTM and totally clueless about everything which I why I post on here lol

Yes I would just to be on the safe side. You can’t be too careful.
Tell them if you have noticed any other symptoms too. I hope everything is okay.

How long have you had it?

I think such an unusual presentation should be checked out properly.

Odds are it’s just one of those weird things but there’s no sense in you worrying about it when a check-up would be easy enough.

I find it so frustrating that midwives would be so dismissive like that. Get a second opinion.

It’s the first time I am seeing this on someone else’s skin!
Have you had a gestational diabetes test?
I had this when pregnant with my son. It took a year after birth for it to go. No one knew what caused it and all the doctors I showed it to was perplexed. After the birth of my son, my GP referred me to a skin specialist who diagnosed it as a pigmentation. It wasn’t painful or anything and there was no cure for it. Almost 5 years on, it’s all gone no sign of it. I had it really bad from neck to toe, two shades of skin colour. I didn’t have it again when pregnant with my daughter.
Have you heard of acanthosis nigricans? It’s something similar.

^^ mine was probably caused by gestational diabetes where my skin cells began to reproduce rapidly due to the increased insulin in my bloodstream.
