Hey. So this is my 3rd baby. I had SPD with my 2nd although it wasn’t severe. But I’m only 13 weeks and I’m struggling right now.

I’m up half the night switching sides because my hips are in agony if I lie on one side for too long.

I’m really starting to struggle to walk. It hurts mostly all day now, even when I’m sitting down.

Not quite sure what to do, should I talk to midwife or is there really much she can help with?

I’ve just bought a pregnancy pillow so I’m hoping that will help me get a better sleep but I’m not hopeful!

Speak to your midwife as she may be able to give you some tips or refer you to the physio who can give you info on self-help and equipment to stop it getting worse. If you've had spd before then you need to be really careful to prevent it this time round as when it's bad it can be really debilitating.

I had fairly bad spd with my first pregnancy and was on crutches and signed off work by the end, as a result I was very, very cautious with my 2and pregnancy and managed to get through the whole thing with minimal pain. I'm trying to do the same this time round because I know if I'm careful and take the right precautions then it does make a huge difference. I hope it's the same for you.
