Does this scan look normal? The consultant said that the sac looks a bit smaller than he would expect? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

The sac does look quite small. Have they booked you for another scan? What advice did the consultant give?

The sac does look small BUT it could just be the angle of the ultrasound - at 7/8 weeks one of my twins had a very small sac - more than half the size of her brothers and measured a week behind the baby. There is some evidence to suggest small sacs can mean higher chance of miscarriage if there is less than 5mm difference between the baby and the sac. BUT I drank loads and loads of water - literally sloshing with the stuff and by 10 weeks the sacs were more even in size

@snapple21 the consultant just told me to contact my midwife to get in for a 12 week scan and he will keep everything crossed for me. I’m nervous! This is the first time we have been pregnant after 4 years of trying and this was our first round of iui.
@ivfbeenbusy I’m going to ring the consultant tomorrow to see what the mm difference is. I’ll give water a go then.

This was my first child's 8 week scan. Looks a little different to yours I guess but not much.. I hope everything is ok when you have your 12 week scan xx
