Has anyone got any crazy cravings? It’s just milk for me at the moment at 10 weeks. I’m downing it by the pint.

First baby was beetroot. Could easily eat a whole jar at one sitting. Then I read an article about someone who had a craving for Heinz Tomato Soup and the baby was born with an orange tinge. The thought of a purple baby toned that down.

Second baby was melon. I absolutely craved melon. I lived in a village where the shops closed at 5 and at lunchtime for an hour. And even then, melon was a bit of an exotic find. The craving took over my mind!

Oddly, I completely went off chocolate in my first pregnancy and have never enjoyed it since.

First baby absolutely the same as you - milk. I couldn't get enough of it. Had to be ice cold and I would drink pint after pint of the stuff.

2nd baby not the same. The only real craving I got was fairly early on and I just wanted to eat salty fried food. I seem to recall we had a fry up for dinner about 3 times during one week!

@swiftt

All the dairy. Cheese and chocolate milk, mostly. I’m lactose intolerant. Blush

I’ve also been craving a Five Guys since I found out I was pregnant. Finally caved and got one tonight. Asked for extra pickles. Got home, no pickles. Almost cried. Emailed them to let them know and they’re giving me a voucher for another meal on the house, with triple extra pickles next time!

Omg I couldn't even imagine how much I'd burst out crying with my hormones right now😆 I ordered a large fries from Mcdonald's and they gave me a medium 😂 I was mortified

I craved pear, avocado and spearmint polos. Can't remember when, except for the polos, which was towards the end.

@Humpty11 - I love bleach generally, and got massive cravings for tap water in my parents' bit of Kent, as it's nicely and detectably chlorinated 😂

Like a few others, I drank a lot more milk.

My main craving though was spaghetti and Swedish meatballs, with Lloyd Grossman wild mushroom pasta sauce. It was a very specific craving. I could have easily eaten it for every meal. I tried to limit myself to just once a week for DH's sake.

@Sansa87 this is one of the things that surprises me! I cook a lovely meal ... then really can’t face eating it! And I normally love my food! Last week I made a salmon and tagliatelle dish, purposely choosing food that was good for the baby (and that we like). But the slimyness of the tagliatelle as it landed on my plate made me heave. 🤢 My husband had to go and buy a pizza for me.

Yesterday and today I have been craving (and I mean CRAVING) cake... butter icing in particular. I cannot stop thinking about it and I even dreamed I was eating tonnes of the stuff! That would not be healthy so it’s a good job we don’t have any and that I don’t have a car currently. If it did then I would be down the shop! We live in the countryside so there’s no hope of me getting any ... no icing sugar in the cupboard.... my word the need is great though!! Arrgggggggh!

I'm mostly having aversions which can generally be described as "most food" Grin, but particularly: curry, chocolate, rice, spring onions, sausages, chicken, cheese, milk, fish, fizzy drinks.

I have been really excited for my ham and pineapple toasties on a lunch time, my DH thinks it's weird but I used to get them in a cafe when I was a kid so they don't seem odd to me! I ate a lot of beetroot around weeks 6-8 as I couldn't face much else, but it was more out of need than want.

First trimester and my consistent cravings are eggo waffles and mandarins. If it weren't for the heartburn I could down a whole bag of mandarins. I think I could also eat fast food fries every day but I'm staying away from them. I am jealous of everyone with a dairy craving!
