Hello all,

I’ve been given Stemetil for my sickness this week, as at the beginning of the week I couldn’t stop being sick!

They helped stop the sickness for a few days, but I still felt wiped out and dizzy.

But today I have thrown up again and feel sick. Is this normal when taking the anti sickness meds to still throw up?

At my wits end and feeling really rubbish! 😥

Hi @Lgw20 sorry to hear you are feeling so rough.

In my experience the meds always worked for a few days and then the sickness would return. I tried three different types until I found something that made me feel human again. But this also coincided with me being 15 weeks pregnant so not sure if it was just the timing or the meds. Safe to say I am still on them now at 32 weeks and very fearful of coming off them. Last night was the first time in a month that I was sick, so it’s always lingering in the background for me and very much depends on what I’ve eaten, if I’m hot, tired etc but generally day to day life continues as normal ☺️

Don’t be afraid to ask for something else though, my SIL who is a nurse encouraged me to keep ringing the GP back to try other alternatives, there are many, and I am very thankful she did. You just have to find the right one, or combination for you!

Hi

Yes totally normal, you will have days where your body doesn't want to cooperate with the tablets. I'm on ondansetron and cyclizine where I have good days and bad days. X
