I’ve took vitamin c,d, B6, folic acid and zinc whisky TTC I’m 5weeks now and wondering should I keep taking these (definitely the folic acid) I’m kind of scared to stop just Incase they have helped. The zinc does say see a doctor if u are pregnant before taking these so I stopped that when I found out just Incase.

Just take a specific pregnancy vitamin. Pregnacare is good.

Hi you should take vitamins through out your pregnancy am 23 weeks now and get them free through the healthy start vouchers you can easily apply for this your midwife just needs to sign it hope this helps and all goes well for you in your pregnancy x

Pregnacare didn’t agree with me when TTC so I’m a little wary of that. I’ve still to get a midwife appointment, I was holding out until 6 weeks to call but maybe I should phone my gp.

I just took folic acid til 12 weeks and vitamin D when I thought of it as they are recommended by the NHS. I spoke to my midwife at about 16 weeks about the fact that I wasnt taking any other vitamins (I really struggle taking tablets). She said they are mostly marketing and once I eat well I should have no issues if I dont want to take them. I focused on my diet, lots of iron from spinach, calcium, natural sources of protein etc. My bloods have always been great.

They cant do any harm, but if you dont want to take them after you finish folic acid, a general good diet will do just as well.

I took only folic acid up to something like 13 weeks, then I stopped that and starred on vit D. As long as you have a good diet and no diagnosed deficiency you don't need anything else, though if you feel you want further supplements for peace of mind, pick any brand of pregnancy-specific ones.

I am 8+5 and was told to keep taking vitamins d and folic acid. I may also need iron later

Vitamin D and folic acid at a minimum. I take pregnacare but I’ve heard people say the seven seas ones are easier to stomach. Take them with food as they can cause nausea on an empty stomach.

I took folic acid when TTC & first 12 weeks and then vit D throughout. I also take iron because my stores are low but you should be fine if you have a balanced diet x
