How bad can Braxton Hicks get? 38+1 advice please

So im 38+1 and patiently waiting for baby to arrive. I've had braxton hicks since start of 3rd trimester but recently they feel a lot worse... some days I get a bout of them that really hurt like period pains. And just now I had them whilst cleaning the kitchen and I had to stop and bend forward holding the side while they happened, I couldnt stand up straight because it hurt like period pains. I've also gone from not being able to go to the loo, to having loose stools for the last 3 days.
Could this be my body getting ready? 🤞🏻

For me my Braxton Hicks got steadily worse and slowly turned into full on contractions. I think it's a good sign! Of course check with your midwife if you're worried.

@Halfeatentoast thanks for replying! Not worried just excited, have midwife tomorrow so will ask her :)

@biscuit13 this sounds exactly like mine a week before my last two were born, so you definitely could be looking at a half term baby next week, or a Halloween one 😊

@ChampooPapi eek! I hope baby comes next week! Thanks for the intel!

I've been getting this too. Had Braxton Hicks since second trimester but now I'm 38+2 they are very intense and last a long time. This week they've been feeling like really bad cramps and have taken my breath away, but they always go.

@Minkies13 yes! I get them quite bad on and off for about an hour and then they stop. Sounds like we are due about the same time though!! Exciting!
