Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has been told at 36 weeks their baby had stopped growing and what happened next.

I had mine yesterday and they said his heartbeat was strong and organs as should be however he is barely above the 10th centile line on the growth chart and they have booked in extra scans.

Should I,or the hospital be more concerned?

Thanks 😘

You and baby will be fine 😊 I had exactly the same at 36 weeks... referred for a growth scan. Baby fine, just on the small side. They decided to induce at 37 weeks, she was small at 5.3lb but we were out of hospital the next day and no complications at all. I was told some babies are just small! I'm on my second pregnancy now, and again this one is small and I'm going for regular growth scans throughout 🙄 try not to worry, it's a great thing you are having extra scans xx

Yes as PP said, they may feel the placenta isn't working as it should anymore and baby isnt getting the nutrients it needs in utero so deliver baby early. That way baby can begin oral feeding.

Meant to add, this was the case with my first baby and I was induced at 38 weeks. He was definitely skinny but v long too. My placenta was failing by then. My second and third babies didn't have growth issues.

They did say the placenta can get old and may have blockages so I'm off for a Doppler ultrasound and an extra growth scan, then it could be c section to follow. Glad all worked out for your little ones. Heard more positive stories than not, maybe just over worrying myself xx

My baby was induced at 37 weeks. Again measuring small. Was born early hours of morning and we were home the same day in the evening. My placenta had stopped working properly. She was absolutely fine. Just a small thing.
