Hello! Thought I'd start a thread for the welsh mums-to-be given that we're about to go back into lockdown 2.0 and figure we'd need all the support we can give each other!

I'm currently 10 weeks pregnant with my first, based in South Wales.

Hello! I am also in South Wales and 5 weeks with dc3. How are you feeling about everything?

ProfInkly · 21/10/2020 18:50

Hi, South Wales here too. I'm around 9 and a half weeks. Have a DD already. Also had a miscarriage in the first lockdown at 8 weeks so have been very anxious, but had a private scan at 8 weeks this time and all OK so far.
Hope you're doing OK.

Am in wales too but not south. 8 weeks today.

Helo 😀

Hi! I am in south wales...24 weeks pregnant :) I currently don't feel that anything is different right now as still going to work normally! Hope everyone is keeping well

Charlottejade89 · 21/10/2020 21:30

Hi im in South Wales and im 31 weeks pregnant. I've had to finish for mat leave now as I'm an NHS worker so I'm enjoying spending time at home with my 2 year old dd (ask me again after 2 weeks of lockdown tho lol)

MrsBonnie · 21/10/2020 21:40

I'm North Wales... hope that counts Grin... but I'm 12 weeks and have my first scan on Monday. Dreading this next lockdown with my 18 month old!!!

hello all! How is everyone feeling? I can’t wait for my 12 week scan to make sure everything’s ok! Have been for a private one already but it’s still such a nerve wracking time isn’t it?

Hi all, I'm 29 weeks today with my first. Been a funny old time, hasn't it? Since I'm now in 3rd trimester and "at increased risk" I've been sent away from the office, so I'm trying to do a job from home that really can't be done off-site.

I have a midwife appointment in a couple of weeks, which will fall during the "firebreak"... Hope it goes ahead.

I'm in the Aneurin Bevan board area. Have been going to the Gwent but apparently as of next month it's all transferring to the Grange? Anyone know anything about this? My poor midwife seems as perplexed as I am and keeps apologetically saying she'll let me know more when she can.

Everybodyfednobodydead · 22/10/2020 11:10

NHS here to and think I'll be moved from clinical to office after 28 weeks (haven't told work yet but that's what the other pregnant ladies have had to do)

Not sure about Aneurin Bevan sorry. I am Cwm Taf and haven't had a booking in appointment yet. I've never had a private scan with my other 2 but thinking I will this time as it's unclear whether they'll allow partners to attend the NHS ones and this will be my partners first child.
One positive about the impending lockdown is I don't have to come up with excuses as to why I'm not drinking

LunchBoxPolice · 22/10/2020 12:36

@CoalCraft I’m Aneurin bevan too, due in 3 weeks. My midwife told me that the maternity unit opens at the grange from 15th November - after that date you could still go to the Gwent or Neville Hall it you are midwife led, but there will be no consultant/provisions should things go wrong. If there is a problem they would take baby by ambulance to The Grange.

Apparently the grange doesn’t have a post natal ward but individual rooms, which sounds so much nicer!

CoalCraft · 22/10/2020 12:40

@LunchBoxPolice

That does sound much nicer! From what my midwife had said it seems to be assumed that I'll be moving to the Grange fully, which I'm fine with in principle (swanky new hospital suits me!), just feel a bit in the dark about how the change over will all work. Will have to take a drive to there once it's open just to scout out the route as I don't think I'll have reason to go there before labour otherwise!

LunchBoxPolice · 22/10/2020 12:45

Do you follow aneurin bevan mat services on Facebook? They have said they’ll be posting videos on there soon of where you’ll need to go.
Hopefully it isn’t far out of your way, I’m equal distances between the Gwent and the grange so given the choice I’d choose the fancy new hospital
